  1. I had actually called Parrot and asked about that mic, they told me the unit had to be built to use the dual mic specifically, so I forgot about it. Is it a standard plug or two or what? Are both mic's working or just one? Have you tried any other mic's to compare it to? Thanks Compared to the standard mic that was shipped with the F700 .. I installed this mic in the same place which was right at the top of my A-Arm in a Tahoe .. with the factory mic, I would have to have my face right up to the mic, ALL windows closed and even then people had a hard time hearing me. With the dual-mic
  2. Even if they dont' do the hardware bypass you can always do the software bypass, its pretty easy.
  3. take the Full Metal Jacket DVD out and try again. sounds like a mounted 50cal. Is that sound coming from the speakers or the unit itself?
  4. If you are having trouble transfering contacts w/ the pre, delete the phones profile from the head unit, then delete the Pioneer Navi profile off of the pre, then go about pairing the devices again. Go to Phone with the device connected, then choose phonebook transfer, hit ok and in a second or two you should be prompted on the pre to ask if you would like to give pioneer navi permission to transfer contacts, select yes and the transfer should start.
  5. I bought an F-900BT about a month ago and am loving it, updated to firmware 3.0 and it is pretty darn good, my friend has the same unit running firmware 1.0 still and it is a huge improvement over his. I would say the F series is a perfectly fine unit.
  6. I am on 3.0, for changing tracks and sources it seems to work pretty well, but everytime I try to make a phone call it calls the wrong person. Examply everytime I've tried to call my wife her name is Cheryl, I say CALL CHERYL, it waits a second then says 'calling sarah', i've also heard, 'calling brittany' I can understand sarah as they can sound similar, but Brittany?!?!? really? I mean it sucks that it doesn't work great for phone calls in my experience but I still love the head unit, it has more pros than cons.
  7. I bought the Garmin and its awesome, I would recommend it for sure. I was going to buy the double mic but couldn't find out what kind of plug it used.
  8. it can be used for making phone calls too, I mean as long as you want to call the wrong person everytime.
  9. this was very easy, time consuming but easy, and well worth it so far. Does anyone else have trouble hitting the edit menu in testmode though? or is it just me?
  10. if I have a current route up and running and decide I no longer need to use the directions, how can i exit the navigation so that it stops spouting out directions, the only way I can find is to go to the navi menu and delete the route. Is there an easier way that does require exiting to the main menu?
  11. Can I use any mono mic or do I need to use a specific mic with this head unit. I just bought the head and it didn't come with the mic. Sorry if this info is out there already, I searched but could not find the answer.
  12. whooo, went out 15 min later and it was going faster, took about 40minutes.
  13. I started the update 16minutes ago, it now estimates remaining time to be over 6 hours... please tell me this is not normal...
