1. Okay so you know when you are in "Guide Mode" and you approach a destination a new screen apears with a bar on the left which decreases the green level the closer you get to your turn.... So recently I went over a huge pot hole and my whol car shook. And now instead of that screen, when I am in "GUIDE MODE" and I approach a turn it switches quickly to "TWIN MAP VIEW" so I see the screen as if I am on the road with a larger map on the right hand side... This is really annoying because I dont like this view and I do not understand why it started switching to it. It did not happen before... A
2. hi thanks man. I actually spent most of the day trying to get my Z1 flush (long story about the installer. I made a post a while ago about it for those who are interested) so didn't have th etime to do the speed sense wire. Ill do it next time. I looked at the Z1 though on the back and there was some connectionb for speed guide or something right on the back. Is the speed guide wire what I need? Is it a seperate wire? Or is it one of the wires that is part of the bundle in the "power" series of plugs? Any1 have a pic of the wire on the Z1 that would be great.
3. Hi guys. So I just realized that my installer did not connect a my speed wire I guess, to the navi because when I go into a tunnel the marker stop moving and resumes again when I get out. Could you guys tell me which wire I need to splice into in my car what it looks like and where it can be found? Also what does the wire look like coming out of the Z1? Thanks.
4. just out of curiosity. How do you reset the unit?
5. thanks guys. So Im going to try to ground the RCAs first and see if the problem goes away and see what happens with the ground loop isolator. If not I guess I'll have to take it to the shop. Any1 have any tips on how to ground the RCA's? How d I make the wires stick around the rca terminal? And is it safe to ground all the 5 RCA's to the same point and have the grounds touching? Thanks.
6. thanks guys. So you think I should take it over to best buy? Any clue how long it would take them at $35/hour? And does that include fixing the problem or will they just be its your HU? And any clue how long it should take to diagnose? Or do you guys thik I should take it to a local shop? or am i gonna take it in the A** at the local shop? Also I just ordered 2 PAC SNI-1 isolators. It seems from posts on here guys have had very good luck with them. What is your opinion on them?
7.
Prime example of the situation your in by not supporting your local specialist. The little bit you saved from 6th ave is going to cost you more by far to rectify your situation. There's not a local specialist I know that would not take advantage of you in your time of need. You made your bed (Buying from the Internet), now lay in it!
Okat thanks for the nice comment I appreciate it as though im not stressed out enough right now. Guys how can I check the ground points and dcan you be specific on the bolt names how do they look like? Also where
8. guys I just bought 2 of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... otohosting Did I get the right thing? do I plug the RCAs that come from the head unit into this and then plug the RCAs coming out of this device in the amplifier? Oh man if this thing fixes it I will love you guys forever.
9. guys please help me. I am having the exact same problem I have an Arc Amp and a Diamond amp for my sub. The install was working fine for 3 months thoughand recently I got this terrible loud thumping from my speakers and incredible loud screechy whine. The installer is not being very helpful sinc eI did not buy the stuff from him he just did the install so I have no clue what to do now and I am really stressing. I really dont know much about car audio though. How are these units that you bought that fixed your problem? You said you need one for each amp. But if it plug into the wiring harness b
10. did a search and did not find a single thing relating to my topic. I do not have a factory amp at all. I have two amps. And Arc and a sub amp. When I turn the arc off sound is gone but obviously since speakers are now turned off. Ughh I am so confused guys Ir eally dont know what to do at this point. The system was working fine for 3 months... and I really dont know anything about car electronics and if I take it to a shop they will probably charge me like crazy especially since I did not get anything installed or bought from them. I really don't know what to do.
11. k about to search the forum now. But how can there be a bad ground if it was working perfectly fine before.
12. So I had my system running perfectly with the Z1 Arc amp etc.. All of a sudden the other day I started getting an extremely loud engine wine (the more I rev the enginge the higher the frequncy). Also it seems to buzz and pop really loud from time to time like it can easily wake up the neighbors. I tried disconnecting each speaker from the amp and still had noise in the remaining speakers. Same thing with RCAs. When I turned the amp off eaverything was quiet and only the sub was working. I had it installed by a guy who is really not being very helpfull, and I dont know much about car audio

14. guys. I have been away for a while and have the "old" Z1. What changes did they make on the "new" one other than yo have to bypass differently? just curious.
15. guys quick question. How can I insure my Z1 and sound system? Can I just add it to my car insurance? I didnt think car insurance would cover a sound system would it? I believe I have Allstate in NY. Any1 have any hints for me?
