if you have 4gb of ram or more, most likely 64 bit. also, right click on "Computer" in the start menu pick "Properties" it will say 32 or 64 bit there.
  2. I noticed that almost everything has some transparency to it except for the next turn, and destination time/distance boxes and the other buttons below them, can they be made transparent also?
  3. I still have the older version of your mod pack, with the .dll file that was causing reboots. What all do I need to get up to the new "Hybrid" pack since you don't have it in the new mod pack.
  4. I currently have one of the Scangauge II devices http://www.scangauge.com It is a great piece of hardware and software. If there was a way to mimic most of it's functions on the AVIC, that would be amazing. It has a fully functional trip computer with all of the fuel functions also. Plus code reader/resetter. It can monitor up to 4 sensors at once. Plus it's back light's colors are user programmable to match any color dash lights like the AVIC.
  5. Before you post an update, there is one other thing I am interested in. when you are on a route, the 2 lines that show the ETA and Distance to arrival, they are kinda small for my eyes, and the distance that the AVIC is in my car. Can it be bumped up maybe %25? I assume I can do it myself in one of the files. the next turn indicator is overly large, and if I could shrink that a bit to make more room, that would be great. Also let me know if there is anything specific to test.

I have Windows Vista 32 bit. I followed all the posts, downloaded the software. I also had to install Virtual PC 2007 for networking. I got the emulator up, mounted the flash disk backup from 2.0 and can launch the main menu. The base OS is Windows Mobile 6.1, how to I emulate the actual Windows CE 5.x that the AVIC uses?
  7. 8GB is "SDHC" the HC (High Capacity, anthing over 2 GB) SD cards cannot be read in all hardware. Sometimes a drive update will do it. SO if you get a USB SD Reader make sure it is "HC" ready.
  8. MIne rebooted today, iPod was not connected, I was listening to the HD receiver in analog mode. Maybe 2min after boot up, it rebooted. No recent button presses. It was probably recalculating a route at the time, and I ahve Samantha as the active voice now.
  9. I see one problem, the current speed indicator doesn't have room for over 199 MPH, that is SERIOUSLY limiting functionality! How will I know if I am going 1xx, 3xx, 4xx, 7xx or 8xx? BTW, that is a sharp photo of the screen, any special tricks?
  10. I got another reboot, I was on the iPod screen, and clicked the map button. So of my 2 reboots both were while pressing the map or menu buttons.
  11. I just wanted to show they show up on the current version. I was under the impression you were trying to fix/enable them.
  12. Very cool, thanks! As for the 3d buildings. I have good news.
  13. I am not sure there is a fix for that. If you find one let me know. Its been a while since I've looked at it. I am at sea level and have not taken my car over 5280 feet. I have one other thing I can do by specifically calling out the unit measurement but I don't know if that will make a difference. I Live in Pittsburgh, so pretty much I am between 800 and 1200 feet, so seeing 0.2 miles is kinda a letdown going from 4 significant digits, to 1! Most trips will not go over 2500 feet for me. Also, I think I want to tweak your mod. I would like to 1) remove the GPS indicators 2) add
  14. 1. I have no idea, I did not intentionally enable it. 2. I assume so, I did not knowingly change any scheme. 3. MPH. I took it for another 10 min ride, and trip computer worked fine, other than altitude being in miles, not feet. I know I read about that, back to the search function!
  15. I played with it last night on a 20 mile trip. Overall I really liked it. I think for my taste I need to change the zoom tilt level a bit. I did get a reboot once. I was switching screens, I went to hit the menu button, but hit map by mistake, I then hit menu, maybe a second later and it rebooted. When it came up, it still had my route active, and all was well. Also the trip computer only showed zeros the whole time, but I have been reading all the posts about that issue. FWIW, I DO have the VSS wire hooked up, and I know it works because I live in Pittsburgh (THANK GOD the G20 is
  16. I just installed these mods on my F90BT. It seems to be OK, I haven't moved the car yet to test, I will in a few hours. 2 questions 1) Is there an instruction file/list somewhere that documents all the additional features/changes from stock 3.01? 2) I followed your 20 step instructions and there were well laid out, I did find one inconsistancy. In step 18, you phrase the way of getting to the correct path differently. It was as if you assumed the end user was in \myflashdisk\apl2\igo but I think the last location was \myflashdisk\apl2 so the content folder isn't there. I did no
  17. If you go to pioneer's website, they have documentation there that I think includes pinouts.
  18. I tried that today, and I am pretty sure I did it right. It did not show any along my route, but then again, there really weren't any. I'll play with it and see next time I am on an interstate. And as for the # I assumed that is what it was for, I typically use the underscore "_".
  19. I assume this would work. In the excel document on the Data tab, hit (Find) and choose replace. then put in the "#Rest Areas" and replace with "Rest Areas". Then hit replace all.
  20. Ah, I think I remember seeing that somewhere, I think that is it exactly. I REALLY need to read the basics more...
  21. I have a F90BT with 3.01 with my 30 gig USB hard drive with 20 gig of files (about 4000) it takes about 12-13 minutes for it to be operable (which is almost usless). It was about 5-7 on 2.0. With my 8 gig USB flash drive with 6.5 gig of files (about 1500) it is ready in about 30 seconds, which is fine. Is the factor the drive, (I doubt that since the HD is much faster than the flash drive), the size of disk, the amount of data or the number of individual files (I assume this). If it is the number of files, what is the typical limit that it can directory in about a minute or less?
  22. I tested it on my way to work today, and it doesn't show up as a choice for POIs along selected route. I know it can't be smart enough to already know my route didn't have any interstates on it. My other custom "Junkyard" group didn't show up either.
  23. Yep, that helps alot! I'll take a look at that site and see what format their data is in.
  24. I just tried it myself, worked like a charm! I had to create a POI first, then did as you describe. I also just created my first POI category "Junkyards". No I might do the custom ICON that you mention, but obviously, fairly complicated for minimal gain. Also, what was the source of this information? How up to date is it, and can I keep it up to date? I know in the north east with all the construction, frequently they are moved/removed/closed.
