  1. No, these avics dont have a pico fuse. they use a protection circuit. I seem to have more noise with the avic than I did with an alpine nav. Just have to chase down the source of the noise. Could be wiring, could be an amp, could even be your alt or spark plug wires.
  2. I've had this unit for years and the VR has always worked fine. In the past week though it fails. This is across two ipods and one iphone, all fail. When looking at the map, after hitting "ok", for several min then switching back to "ipod" it looks like the sync starts at that moment instead of when I had pressed "ok". I haven't updated the avic unit or the ipods/iphone or do anything different other than add a few songs. Anyone know how to fix this?
  3. all the settings should have been flat. i do everything through my MS-8. i mean, its not a big deal because i can just retune but i really dont like the GUI. my main complaint is having no "shuffle play all" button means i have to navigate through several menus and select some random song from the "songs" list. annoying to do when you are driving. i think the general way you navigate the z110 is much easier while you are driving than the 120. lol too bad i didnt know that before i updated. with the F series you could load the original firmware back onto it whenever you wanted so i was hopi
  4. i really dont like the new 120 GUI and i swear the volume is lower after the update. I want to revert back to the 110 programing now. can i just redownload the 1st z110 update in the "110 - 120" thread and install that? i have a competition to go to tomorrow so please get back to me ASAP guys. thanks.
  5. ooohhh ok. that makes sense. i figured it was something like that and went ahead with the update. it went just fine. only problem is im not sure if i like the new user interface lol.
  6. ok, i have something confusing me. the SD1 file has 4 parts to it. opened 2 of them with winrar and they are both about 3.6GB with the same files inside. do i only use part one? or did something not DL correctly? SD2 only has the one file in it. not multiple parts. so no confusion there.
  7. dang, this thing just got a lot faster and the voice calling finaly works. took a long time to get it set up, i didnt know about torrents either so i had to learn and set that up too. but it didnt disapoint once i got it installed. thanks for taking the time to set this up.
  8. ok it looks like i cant find the 3.0 update anymore. does the 3.02 update for the x series work for the f series?
  9. so i just saw a x920 at a shop and i was impressed with how much faster it is than my f700. so its gotten me wanting an upgrade. the x920 looks great but i do have the option of upgrading my f700 with the new firmware (ya still havnt done it). not money is tight so the update would be very doable but i dont want to waste the money if it doesnt make that much of a difference. i am used to most of the drawbacks of the f700 im just annoyed with how slow it is, the bluetooth has several bugs that come up almost every time and the start up time. i have been reading around here a lot since i got
  10. i just changed my oil last night, hit the oil reset button. next time i turned the car on, i got this problem... very interesting...
  11. same thing here. the splash screen shows up then the unit shuts off. whats this mailing list for the file to fix it? can i get the file somehow?
