  1. This sounds like a different issue than what I have and understand is the general problem. The general problem with the F500BT w/ 3.0 is that when an ipod is left connected at shutdown of the cars ignition the F500 does a full shut down. Hence upon next startup the F500 has to do a full startup and resets back to startup volume settings. Previous firmware allowed the F500 to go into hibernate mode and then do a quick restart saving all settings and continue playing from ipod on startup. The work around for me (and a constant pain in the butt) is to pause the ipod and disconnect the cabl
  2. Well I can confirm that if I remove the IPOD prior to shutting off the car the F500 DOES go into sleep mode. This bug is VERY annoying and I hope someone at Pioneer monitors these things and puts together a patch.
  3. I can confirm having the same issue post 3.0 update. My 500BT goes full power up everytime I turn the ignitiotion off and on. Prior to update I had no issues it always went into hibernate mode. I have not tested with and without IPOD connected will try that and report back. I looked through the settings and dont see anyone to modify the behaviour of the systems power state.
  4. I did not use the ND-G500 in my install. That being stated, I did do a permanent wire with the yellow 12V+ always on power and the cig adapater behind the dash on an 12v acc circuit. My unit does a hibernate when I power the car off, it sucks the battery down whiles its off. If the car is off for more than a day or so the unit does a full boot upon returning to the car. I assume thats because the battery pack gives out. Its quirky and a little annoying. Sounds like your battery is even worse than mine.
  5. There might be something for headphone jacks, I didnt see one in my quick search. I am installed all behind the dash so the extra box is a pain but in the end it will be hidden. Good luck on your install, I glad I only paid $188 for the system, it has a few bugs and quirks.
  6. With the volume all the way up it is just passable with car stereo turned up ~90%. I will be getting the P.I.E. LD-1 to amp the aux output, its adjustable so the level can be matched to other inputs ie FM, CD.
  7. Yep the just ground the ebrake sounded to good to be true. Thats correct its a different wiring harness with different cables than the other F series. Ditto, planning on getting the 3.0 update. The gps works fine, just no video while the vehicle is moving. Its not a deal killer for me but I would like to have the freedom to choose whats playing and not be limited. Just fyi the aux audio output is too low, I am planning on adding a preamp to the signal output in near future to bump it up a little.
  8. Yes no video while in motion utilizing the direct power cord. Ok I installed with hardwire to the mount today. I grounded the ebrake lead to the switched acc ground with the power ground to the cig. 12v outlet I added behind the dash. During the test drive the F500 says, "The system has detected an improperly connected ebrake, yadda yadda." WONT play video while moving, says "Its dangerous for front seat drivers to watch video while the car is in motion" or something along those lines. Plays video fine while stationary. I should add that this is a new unit bought from 6th ave.com
  9. I can say for sure that with no modification the F500BT will not play video while moving when using the direct power cable.
  10. I am also very curious about this, I have yet to install my F500BT. From what I gather there isnt a hardware bypass, the only way would be to ground the e-brake and do the modification of the config file. Seems there are a lot less posts about the bypass for the F500 so this is all speculation but it would appear that 3.0 would initially break the bypass, its possible that someone will figure out something else after it comes out.
