I know another user who installed a EU FW 3.0202 on his US X710BT, there is apparently no problem in the FM/AM. And there is no problem with the video because the backbone is Windows CE 5.0. No PAL or NTSC to mess with. Thanks a lot for your reply. I ll do it over the weekend and post the results here!!! Of course will be making a backup of the working system before going with the FX!!!

Hello everyone!! Can this firmware be installed on a EU version F700BT? I am asking because I know the Radio Frequency intervals are different between the USA and EU. Wanted to know before I start messing things up. I have a version 3 working fine.

Installing an aftermaket radio in a VW or Audi you need to install a CAN interface that will give you the switch live and all the other wires like when the car is in reverse and the speed pulse. There are a few on the market. You you do that, when the ingnition is turned off the unit continues to work until you remove the key - D

OK you have to get into your system using testmode. Once there, navigate to the APL folder where you look for the user files and then locate the files which are going to have a db extention, and the name will be the mac address of your bluetooth phone. Then use sql lite to edit the file. Hope this helps. ps. If I was home I would have given you this in more detail but I am abroad and no access to my car.

Gettig the message below MapDBInfo: 0x1000 <=> Device 0x0010 AU: 0x0001 EW: 0x010 RF: 0x0100 UX: 0x1000 is due to a problem with the right file in you IGO\content folder where the MapDBinfo.txt is located. Make sure you have the European version. It should say something like Area: EW IntegrationVersion: 01.000600 Had the same problem and that's how I fixed it. Hope this helps!!!

I followed option 1 from what you are saying. Result was being able to get into testmode again and firmware shows 2.007!! One thing only, I did not format before copying the files from the SD card but choose option 2 that only replaced them.

I followed konick's instructions successfully and I am able to get back into test mode , very happy about that. Next I tried to install my Cyprus maps by inserting Cyprus.fbl in map folder and Cyprus.pos, in POS folder, replaced the EZrider.exe and placed the license file in the appropriate folder but the map does not seem to show up on the list. Firmware still shows 2.007, eventhough I can still get in testmode. Any ideas why? Is it possible that 2.007 has something that does not allow the addition of new maps. Do I have to downgrade to something lower than that? Thanks!!!

Let us know what you find out, because I really need to get back into testmode to install my Cyprus maps, which pioneer does not include. -D

Along the same lines as you suggest I was thinking since the way to make changes to the system is to transfer files to the unit. From my understanding the way the firmware update works is by checking a list of the known files and upload the new ones in the folders. What if we just included in those folders only the files that we want to be transferred and modify the list of files to be transferred? Thought number 2, as far I can tell windows ce is based mostly on the two files in the LT folder. If somehow we can get those two older files in the unit then maybe testmode will be back.

Another thought, what if we switched the files that define the version of the firmware from the 2.7 to a lower one? would that work? or would it mess out the system?

I know this is a shot in the dark but is it possible to downgrade?

Hello everyone, I am new here, great site, found a lot of usefull information. I own an F700BT eu version and I too installed the 2.7 version and before I installed my Cyprus maps an the unit and I am stuck I emailed Pionner but I am not hopping for much. I thought though. I am pretty sure the firmware update is using some sort of script transfer the files to the unit. Can we modify that and use it to transfer our own files?
