  1. Hey Chuck88, maybe I'm in the minority but I have always used smart zoom and always will as long as its available; so go ahead and count me as a smart zoom user.posting.php?mode=reply&f=64&t=33698#
  2. Sounds good Chuck. Please let us know how it goes after you apply the mods. Thanks
  3. Hey Soccercoach61 Thanks for the info. Good to know testmode still works. Do you have any mods installed on your unit and did the update adversely affect any of it? I just might do this update if Diaftia's & Abb1's mods will continue to work just fine with it.
  4. Hey Abb, absolutely, positively prefer the 3D split screen over the 2D version. Can't wait for Chrome V3.0. Do you have a PayPal setup so we can provide a little beer money for all your hard work?
  5. Alex, that new screen looks excellent. I'd be willing to give it a shot.
  6. OK Alex, I did calibrate the screen once again and still see the same results. Just to clarify I can change the 2D views by pressing the compass, switching between map up and north up. It will momentarily switch to 3D before reverting back to 2D. I do delete the files in the save folder before I put on a new mod to make sure there are no conflicts between versions. This isn't a big deal since I can still get to 3D using the joy stick, but its just weird. I will see if I can replicate this on the emulator. If you like send me the beta & I'll check it out. Just know I'll be away starting Fri
  7. Hey Alex, I've been using your mods since the beginning and have been very happy with all of them. With each new mod they just get better & better and I have not had problems with any of them. That said, with the last 2 iterations (V1 & V2) I've noticed something strange. It will not go into 3D mode by pressing the compass. I need to hit either the up or down function on the joy stick control to get it to show 3D. It defaults to 2D when powered up or if I come out of reverse it returns to 2D rather than 3D. This is different than in the past where it stayed wherever I put it. Certainly
  8. Alex, looks good to me. Can't wait to give it a try.
  9. Alex I wonder if it would be possible to enlarge the menu button on the map screen if you decide to do the large icon thing. I'm guessing you might be limited in size when using the quick menu small icons so everything fits on the screen, but may be able to double the size of the button with the older larger setup. Just a thought on improving the usability for us folks with big fat fingers. Thanks.
  10. Hey Diaftia, your work just keeps getting better & better. I voted for the older larger style; for me its just easier to use while moving. If we were using the stock version we would have to hit menu and deal with all of that so the older larger style is still a vast improvement and the map is only hidden for a short period of time. Thanks, just my two cents.
  11. Hey JR definitely interested. I have some questions so I'll be sending an email later this morning. Its because of people like you in this forum that I am so happy I went with the Pioneer unit rather than the Kenwood. The willingness of members to help each other is just terrific. Thanks
  12. Diaftia, great work as usual. I was wondering about the POIs as well. Can you clarify? I ran across this topic in the forum and I wonder if its something you could add. Seems like it could be useful.viewtopic.php?f=34&t=28044. Anyway thanks again for putting all this together.
  13. Bopper I did some further checking and it looks like your problem with Rt 23 is associated with the crummy maps that came with 3.0. I have a 90Bt with the latest Teleatlas maps 2009.6 and I have no difficulty entering an address on rt 23. When I type "STA" it goes to "state hwy 23 or state route 23" right away. I then put on the older NJ map from the update (1.5 - 2 yrs old now) and encountered the problem you are seeing. When typing "STA" it does not give me state route 23 as a choice. I think you would benefit from the newer 2009.6 maps. Just another note, sometimes highway addressing goes i
  14. Hey Bopper, you were so close; for Rt 23 you need to enter it as "State Route 23",. I'm in NJ and I ran into something similar looking for an address on Rt 22. Just remember its a computer and you have to enter things the way they are stored on the database to get a match. Hope this helps.
  15. Thanks for the links but this is something I've already done, hence the rant! I'll just keep my eye out for new maps as they come available and will continue to send in corrections as they are found. I'm pretty sure older stuff won't mix with new but I have not encountered any problems mixing navteq & teleatlas maps and pois from 2009, at least not when I run them on the emulator. Thanks again for your help.
