  1. Thanks. Yeah, that's pretty much where I've narrowed the problem down to. I've pretty much double checked and re-wired everything else from scratch. I was afraid that it might be some loose solder on the circuit board. I've done some soldering but I'm more worried about the disassembly. I'm definitely out of warranty so I might just have to go with a 3rd party repair service and see if I have any luck there. Thanks.
  2. Thanks for your reply. Pardon my ignorance but what do you mean exactly when you say soldering the RCAs?
  3. I have an issue with my X910BT where the sound will cut out somewhat randomly. I have audio running from the RCA front and rear outputs to my factory amps. I first thought my factory amps were going bad so I bought a line output converter to test and the sound is stable (doesn't cut out) when ran through the LOC but the quality is pretty poor. I next thought that it might be the RCA output harness that had a wire going bad but I also replaced that and it's still cutting out randomly. I've checked all of my wiring and it's definitely good. Has anyone else experiencing a problem like this?
  4. i just received an email stating that it is now available here in the US. here is the purchase link: http://pioneer-usa.rsys1.net/servlet/cc6?igjQSWTUQSVuILgltLPxuILgltLPQgLlV2VR anyone want to kindly donate $120 to me?
  5. well i can say that i now have an ipod classic 160gb and it is not even close to as blurry as with my iphone 3gs. i can only imagine it it something about the way certain ipods & iphones send the album art.
  6. what i ended up doing was i synched all of my phone book entries to the head unit and then i copied the address book file from the head unit and used the phone book editing software found in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=22601 from there, i just removed the entries i probably would never need and edited them to the correct format which i now believe is '15555555555' (translated from '1 (555) 555-5555' from my iphone). it really isn't a problem with people's phones, it is just that the head unit really ought to format the numbers correctly upon importing. i still haven't verified
  7. i just figured that i would add that i am seeing the same thing with my x910bt and my iphone 3gs 16gb. hopefully pioneer can come up with a solution. for the time being, keeping the artist info below the smaller thumbnail makes it bearable to look it.
  8. i believe i have the 1.67 version and it works quite well. my only gripe is really about the head unit itself and the way it interprets things. my car only has a set of track up/down buttons and no seek buttons on my steering wheel so i either have to choose between two scenarios: - the radio's presets working and no ipod forward/back control - the buttons operate seek on the radio and ipod forward/back control works it would make sense to me for pioneer to change the programming so that the same buttons would control the radio presets AND the ipod forward/back control. makes no se
  9. i also have an iphone 3gs and i have noticed the same issue. i am going to do some testing tonight when i get home to see what format is required for the name to be linked to the number of an incoming call. *edit: turns out the way the the iphone stores phones numbers is not compatible. the iphone stores as '(555) 555-5555' or '1 (555) 555-5555' and the avic needs '15555555555'. i guess i will just have to manually edit the entries using the phone book editor found here: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=22601
  10. figured that i would post that i figured out the solution. turns out that the program i used to tag all of my mp3s (musicbrainz picard) automatically added some sorting tags to all of my mp3s that my x910bt didn't like. here is a forum post that has more info about the tags that were present in the mp3s: http://iaudiophile.net/forums/showthread.php?t=23203
  11. i hate to bump up an old topic, but i am experiencing this problem as well on my x910bt. the odd thing is that i am using itunes 9 and my iphone 3gs. the itunes version is the latest available and my iphone has the latest firmware. i have just recently updated all of the tags on my mp3s and now the jump to letter isn't working for the artists. it works fine for albums though. i have made sure that the vr catalog has been updated as well. one thing i noticed is that some of them work. the letter A works but B-K don't work but then L and most others to Z work just fine. any ideas?
