NICE ride!!! Get all the perks with it. The iPod adapter and the bluetooth phone are the shit. Also the backup camera so you can see all the cars you are passing. I also recomend getting Sirius and then taking me for a drive. I will be in Someset NJ in mid March at a saltwater fishing show. I will let you drive mine if I can drive yours You will love the Z2!!

Most of them there drives have some sort of adapter on them for use in a laptop, so try and slide the black piece of the end of the hard drive and see if that is where the correct plug is hidng.

Ok cybersailor, please explain to me how to do this. I run iTunes for my kids iPod, but did not really spend to much time learning it other than just downloading songs for him. how would I do that for CDs to put in my AVIC in MP3 format? thanks,

I could not get my Z2 to play MP3s at all on CD nor DVD.

How do you get these on the systems? I read the book and it is soo confusing.

It should be in the volume settings, then in the menu, settings menus, I think it is under mute settings. You can select full mute, attenuate etc and also choose which spealers the voice outputs to.

I was having trouble with mine too, but in a Z2. It turned out is was a loose connection where I taped into the reverse switch. So check all connections including behind the head unit. Then check fuses too.

I had no idea what Gracenote was. Thanks,I assumed the data was already on the cd and the unit was not reading it correctly. Now that I know it is a database, then it makes perfect sense. I did some research and there is updates on other head units on the pioneer site more frequently than for the Z2. Thanks for the help

Does anyone know why some of the new CDs from Walmart will not come up right in the Z2? I got the new Garth Brooks and George Strait Cds and when I put them in the Z2, no data comes up, but when I put them in iTunes and downloaded to the iPod the titles were there. WTF???

It wil be $250 like every other update they have done. I got mine free in the past when I registered it online. So do that and maybe we both will get lucky.

if you are not going to add amps, then go with the walmart stuff, cause you are not going to hear all the sound that is there and will not be played through the head units built in amps. they are just no good. If you get a small amp to power 4 speakers, the go with any of the middle fo the road lines. I have JL Audio VR and TR speakers hooked to a 4 channel M series Memphis amps and mine sound absolutely spectacualr and cost me around $700 installed. But I bought JL compnent speakers and they are pricy, but the regualr JL coaxials were about $150 less per pair and sound good too. You

Butters, No id do not see the objects appeared text. The camera works just fine when it is on split screen, when I put it into reverse it will not switch to full screen. It acts like the reverse wire is not hooked up. But only when it is hot. When it is cold it works like it is suppossed to. We checked the wires hooked up to the reverse wire on the backup switch and it is correct and has good signal so it is not the wire that runs to the back of the unit, the problem is internal. Ok here we go mother fucka. I travel a lot, I got a truck that is 16 months old and has 65,000 miles on it. I have been across this country 3 times the past 12 months. The AVICs, all of them have their problems, but I have found in my travels that they are still great at getting it right. There are always areas that the mapping is not quite right. That is not Pioneers fault. They just load data that is proveded by another company. So call tele nav or whoever makes the mapping part and complain to them. There is a way in the Z2 to adjust the routing options. Try them and see. You can also choose to have it shopw different routes and you pick one. The Z2 is a very powerful tool. It has some issues, all of them do, but I am glad i got mine. I also have a Iway 250C and I have used it at the same time as I was traveling with the Z2 and sometimes the Lowrance works better and sometime the Z2 works better. It happens.

You are into all that high tech stuff. I would just like to get my backup camera to turn on every time I put it in reverse. When my unit gets hot, uno normal operating temps, the reverse switch does not work. Sent the unit to Pioneer to be fixed and they did not find a pronlem. So when my unit is cold it works fine, when it gets about 70 then the backup does not come on when in reverse. Any ideas?

Bump is a way of moving a thread to the top of the stack without sending a blank reply. That is all. It happens a lot on other boards. I am getting a JL audiop 4 channel amp next week to replace the POS planet Audio I have that just fried my Z@ by grounding itself back through the RCAs. I turned on my truck and it sounded like a gun going off through the speakers and the Z2 was fried. It started humming and frying and stuff. the GPS works.

I am saying the same to. BECAUSE, you can send shorted out things back to Pioneer and they will fix them for a fair fee. I woudl assume less than what someone will sell you one for. But what do I know???

I have a Z2 and it is bypassed and has the firmware update in it. I am getting ready to buy the ipod interface and the bluetooth interface too. what do I need to do to it? I know there wasa bluetooth update, but do not know how to do ti. thanks,
