  1. I would say an RC01 is the one. That is the same one I have in my 06 Sierra. Does your door chime go through the door speaker? If so, here it is: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120GMRC01/GM-Factory-Integration-Adapter.html?search=RC01&skipvs=T
  2. Yea, the harness is what does that. Someone must have either hooked up the wire wrong, or you have the wrong GMOS harness adapter. There are 3 or 4 of them for 06. Depends on whether you have on star or not and or Bose system.
  3. I will give you a small piece of advice. Stay away from eBay for doing anything to your unit. Once you buy something, you got no help if something goes wrong. If you want to update/upgrade your unit, Mr. Garret Toomey is the SOURCE for all things AVIC. He has some services that you can do and he WILL help you if anything goes wrong, and prices are awesome. PM him any questions you may have, he is #2 in this thread. I am a repeat customer of Garret's and he in no way asked me to endorse him in anyway.

    remove phones

How can I remove phones saved in bluetooth connections?
  5. I had Garret update my HDD that I purchased from him earlier this year. Sent it to him, and recieved it back in 4 days. Excellent Service and communication and great price. If you have not bought one of his replacement HDD for the Z series, you need to and save that OEM one for if you need to send in for service from pioneer. Garrets drives are much faster and you can load major amounts of music on the drive for hours of random music play. Thanks Garret. 1st class!!!
  6. I just installed the bluetooth on my Z2/Z3 and I love it. It is the coolest damned thing I have ever owned. I even had the $300 Motorola 1000 something or rather and the Z blows it away. A friend and I are discussing this very topic now. I have the Z and he is thinking of buying the 90. As of right now, he is leaning toward the Z because of all the features that the 90 does not have plus the bigger screen in a full size truck is the final factor in the decision. Best of luck figuring it out, but at least we are not talking about Alpines
  7. I just installed my bluetooth to my Z2 and I got a problem. When it turns on, it takes anywhere from 2 to 15 minutes for any sound to come through my speakers. no beeps, no phone, nothing, just my dinger for my truck, I have one off those GMCs where the door chimes go through the speakes up front. then after that amount of time the sound just starts, just like nothing was wrong. Does any one have any idea why this would be doing this after putting in the bluetooth? The bluetooth works perfectly other than taking so long to get sound from Radio, Sirius, library, nor beeps.
  8. this has been covered before and verified that it does in fact eliminate all hissing, buzzing, whining or any other sound not normal for stereos. This is what was emailed to me from Memphis techs and it worked for me: What we were suggesting was: Tap off from the 12v power lead (constant power) and the ground <<<< and run those wires back to the head unit. Since the remote turn on lead is going in the opposite direction (coming from the head unit to the amp), take it and twist it around the 12v and ground coming from the amp back to the head unit. The purpose of
  9. It is a FORD, it can not help itself that it rusts. LOL! If I remember correctly, that is the color of the primer that Ford uses to make ther inside look like the undercarriage so people do not think it is rust, but paint!!! LOL
  10. Well, let me spell this out for you. $120 for the disc from Pioneer or $130 for the HDD from Mr. Toomey and it has all the latest updates already on it and all you have to do is pull the old out and install the new one. If something happens to the head unit that needs warranty repair, then swap the drives out again and it is ready to ship back to pioneer with them not knowing you had the updates at all. Man this is a no brainer, go for the upgrade disk from Pioneer, they will thank you for it!!!!
  11. I personaly would pay BIG BUCKS for a Larry the cable guy, jeff Foxworthy voice program that includes some arguing and other things involved.

The purpose of this technique is two fold; it allows your head unit and amp to theoretically MATCH the 12v constant and the ground. And since you're twisting tho
  13. You should have just gotten it from Garret to begin with. If anything happens to your unit, just simply put the old HD in and send it back to them for the repairs. Simple. Buying a high quality drive from garrett, Simple.
  14. definately go with the HDD upgrade. I did it and it went flawless. It boots up faster and even my menus work faster now. Garrett has the shiznuts covered on this HDD and you will forever be in his debt for putting out such a great deal for basically the same cost as you buying the uograde discs.
  15. please post pics and insturctions on what you did. I have a zune and wanted to do what you did, but I am an idiot and can not figure out what you mean my TV output and such. What do I need to buy and where do I stick it in?
  16. I am another satisfied customer of Garret's Updated HD. Got the Drive in a timely manner and installed it with the tool supplied and all worked just like it is suppossed to. If I had a choice between buying the update discs from Pioneer at $120 or buying a HD from Garrett with the updated already on it for $130, I believe I already made the choice to get the HD. The system boots up faster and now I can put like 4,000 CDs on the drive. Thanks Garret!!!
  17. I would recomend looking at the new Memphis cube amps. I had one and it is so small and runs like a charm and will make anything sound good. I think it is called the D series, but you will see them on the site.

  19. That is a great price considering I got all of that for about $2500 installed including bypass, and upgrade disk. You will like it all'
  20. I just got my N1 back form Pioneer and want to upgrade it to the new 70 disks and get the bypass done, anyone know of a place that does it? Also, if I wanted to sell it, what would be a fair price as Pioneer also replaced my faceplate too.
  21. Excellent post. It went almost the smae in my truck too. 06 GMC 2500 HD. I will just tell you one thing about the backup camera. I will completely disagree on having it with a truck. Mine is a Crew Cab Long bed and it is absolutley the best feature I have owned. A truck of my length can not pull into parking spots at wal mart, I have to back in. Without the camera, someone has to get out and tell me when to stop before hitting the car behind me when parking. I have also several scuffs from where I backed into poles before the camera was installed. It took 15 mintues to install t
  22. Bluetooth( ND-BT1) is an add on and is sweet. If you get the remote that straps on the steering wheel(CD-SR1), it has the phone contols on it too. I hear you on the no iPod. Also, I had XM( 9 radios in total), but switched to Sirius and I like Sirius much better. No commercials on my favorite music channels. Have fun!!!
