  1. I have the z1 installed in my 08 250. I had it installed locally but they did splice the built in jack so that any mp3 player/ipod will work. I think they used the aux jack on the z2. Steering wheel control also work.
  2. If this is so why are there so many posts that state otherwise. Link to posts? I read pretty much every post and have not seen any of them state that the unit is not bypassable with the Z1->Z2 update. I thought I had read several reports both ways in this thread "The Final AVIC-Z2 Bypass- Look no more!". However, I more than happy to see a definitive answer from respected members of this forum and will not hesitate to update upon receipt of discs. I will post my results upon update, thanks!

    Z1 Update

Wew Hew, mine to be delivered today or tomorrow.
  4. If this is so why are there so many posts that state otherwise. I too am in the same boat as my update discs were sent last Thursday and I don't want to update if it will kill the bypass. When I decide to update I will save my code and post or pass on the requested information. On another note when I called to order the discs the lady that took my order asked my how I heard they were available since they were not available online yet. Said she was doing her own informal poll and she snickered when I told her Avic411.com and said that was pretty much the answer she was getting.
  5. That really sucks I just plopped down $266 for nothing then!
  6. Also, you can listen to other sources while recording such as XM, Sirrus, or FM. For me it seems like it takes about 20 minutes while listening to another AV source to copy the CD.
  7. Thank you! I must now get back to my regular broadcast.
  8. Perhaps you could be helpful instead of a smartass! I did my research and was just looking for confirmation and help and not a useless post such as yours!
  9. Okay, I have been doing a lot of reading and hoping for some final answers on the differences between these 3 tuners for a Z1. My understanding so far is that the 5700 is probably the best bet. It will hook right up, control through touch screen, and has an extra video output. My understanding of the 6400 is that it is the same except a little larger and has only one video output. My understanding of the 7000 is that is will work like the 5700 & 6400 but the cables have to have some modifications to them to make them work. If so is there a link to how to perform this modifica
  10. In the map menu there is an option for Map View (I think) hit this button then you will several views including rear camera. Mine does not show the entire screen as the rear camera it is more like 75% camera and the other 25% is the nav map unless there is a way to change that.
  11. It is no where near perfect but it is acceptable for me. Offset that with all the other features the Z1 offers and I love the unit as a whole. For me in Oklahoma the unit is pretty dead on for small address's so far. The main problem I have had is the routing function is lacking not always picking the best route. Several times the unit has routed me out of the way instead of a more direct route. The routes it suggested are similar roads yet it wants me to detour one way or another instead of the most direct route. Like I said all in all with the XM, bypass installed, HD capability,
  12. Hey all, Just had my 12/06 Z1 installed in my 08 Super Duty and I couldn't be happier. I have the bypass, bluetooth, XM, Auxillary input, and rear camera. My questions are: The Auxillary input from my truck was hooked up to the Z1 so that I could play any mp3 player or device with a 3.5 jack. It works with my son's ipon nano. I am not that familiar with this but I was wondering, they hooked the jack up to the AV input on Z1 (or at least that is what I press on the Z1 to get the ipod to work). Does anyone know if it is capable of playing video say from a video ipon through the

  14. Does anyone know what this TV tuner compatible with?
  15. Yeah, I know I have been trying to find a P5700 for a couple of weeks with absolutely no luck. However, could it be, as my authorized dealer/installer, told me that Pioneer has just released a new tuner that is compantible with the Z1? Maybe even a digital tuner for the new 09 broadcast requirements? Anyhow, he said he just ordered one that is just out from Pioneer and is compatible with the Z1. I sure am hoping he is right. I am going to call him and see if I can get the part # from him.
