  1. It couldn't be a true official bypass, this is why I "quoted" it. Official would only come from Pioneer ... you get the picture . With the SW bypass, you have to change the MAX speed in pioneer.ini, AND you have to also ground the Parking Break wire (see first post of your link). So why do both? Why not just do the HW bybpass at the same time? Otherwise, you could have to do the speed change everytime you change Nav Mod. I might have missed something though. I had read that some has problem with the SW bypass, but since I got HW bypass, I didn't read enough to understand their p
  2. Well, the 2D red diamond icon is also shown when you are in the SPLIT INFO screen ... Did I understand correctly that there are also findings regarding the Nav->Settings->About screen, and some text squeezing together problem somewhere else? Just a reminder toward a better Mod.
  3. Hey Abb, I use your Nav Mod + Chrome theme everyday since then, very happy with it . Along with other findings, it would be nice to change value from 74 to 79 in the multipoi.icon file (the one in ui_pioneer/icons/poi) to fix the problem with RED DIAMOND in 2D mode (I have it changed in my DATA.ZIP and 2D is now fine). The sys.txt =1 directive does fix the same problem in 3D already. Later!
  4. If this is the true problem, I would have to wait it to die before I try to fix it, because with my 4x4, it is a long way to re-route the ground from the rear to the front, dismount the dash then reconnect it . Thank you very much for the advise.
  5. What everything listed? I believe that now you have to follow the some maps installation steps, which is show in this thread: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=29258. It is likely that you are missing an hacked ezrider.exe or some license files ... Inspire yourself from those writings, they will help you.
  6. 1) NOT working. 2) WORKING. 3) NOT working.
  7. Your parking brake wire is probably connected to the parking brake. You need to change that so it is connected to ground and you should be all set. Well, you better off by following http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=17013, the "Official Bypass".
  8. When zipping back to DATA.zip after modifying multipoi.icon, can someone remind me which method to use? 1) With 7-Zip, zip to DATA.7z, then rename to DATA.zip; or 2) With 7-Zip, directly zip to DATA.zip; or 3) With WinZip or any other zip utility, directly zip to DATA.zip. I always use method #2 and it works. But if I use method #1, the file size is signficantly smaller. Please note that Image.res is zipped with method 1. However, 7zip.dll is not presented in the iGo folder. Thanks.
  9. The unit only has 2GB of space in its flash disk. You would have to select the maps that you need from your PC, then copy them to the unit to fit 2GB less a safe amount to temporary usage, says 200 MB. I used to have close to 2GB of data in the flash disk, and Windows CE deleted randomly the first file in the POI folder. After I recopy the POI file, a couple of runs later, it deleted the first file in the BUILDING folder, which happens to be the Canada.POI and Canada.FBL in an alphabetical order ... I live in Canada so I notice that immediately . Strange but since I leave enough sp
  10. OK folks, I consider this issue solved. Like I said in my previous posts, the V2.1 of the night scheme is having three sections of redundant [clip_planes] parameters, while the V2 of the night scheme is having only one section of [clip_planes] parameters, that is identical to the second (middle) section of V2.1. After I removed sections #1 and #3 from V2.1, both color.ini files are identical except the name of the scheme, which doesn't play any role in the scheme colors. So my conclusion would be: because of the repeating of the same [clip_planes] parameters, a possible flaw withi
  11. Well Boris, I need the GPS signal to be able to enable the planned routed. Any way to simulated there is GPS signal in the Emulator? Can I force to start the routing at a fixed location (i.e. fixed Lat/Long position)?
  12. See the first post on this thread, instructions are there.
  13. The reverse wiring should be connected correctly, but like you say, it is possible the the ground wire is making a not-so-good contact because the provided camera ground wire is less than tiny, very very small and fragile. During normal driving, if I turn ON the rear view camera, it behaves the same, 80% of the time!! Does your daughter's car got the same behavior? Thanks.
  14. Thanks Abb for sharing. With reference to your GJ2N_sky_v2.zip night scheme and my V2.1 scheme, I think the stupid three sections of [clip_planes], where the last section has parameters values different from the one of your GJ2N_sky_v2.zip\color.ini, has screw up the iGo software. Exactly how, I don't know. If I delete the first section and the last section of [clip_planes], I will have the exact same color.ini of your GJ2N_sky_v2.zip.
  15. This is totally beyond my understanding ... the below attached file is the GJ2.1_Night_sky2.ZIP scheme, which differs to Abb's scheme GJ2N_sky_v2.zip (two post above) only by the color.ini. The only difference is in GJ2.1_Night_sky2.ZIP/color.ini, three sections for [clip_planes] with same parameters but different values are presented while in GJ2N_sky_v2.zip/color.ini, there is only one section of [clip_planes]. NOW THE SURPRISE: In Abb's scheme, the expected GREEN planned_routed is shown, in mine scheme, it is shown as black!!! Anyone? One of the three [clip_planes] sec
  16. Hi there, I have a X710BT installed with a rear view camera hooked up for sometime. The video from the camera works just fine whenever I put my car to the [R] gear, except one thing: sometime the video is shown (with the white WARNING line on top) for one second or so, then disappears along with the WARNING line for around 2 seconds (nothing, black screen), then reappears again for good (with the white WARNING line on top) during back up. This happens in 80% of the time and it is very annoying! Anybody has observed this behavior with their setup?
  17. Anything that you can share with me, I am looking desperately the way to change the planned route of my night scheme, which is now black. However, in my color.ini, it say RGB(0,150,0) which is dark green. I am currently using the GJ2.1_Night_sky2 scheme. Thanks.

  19. There should be no difference, it all depends on the icons that you assigned for the gas stations. Take a images viewer and look into the branding.zip file for all available icons. For many businesses, there is more than one icon available.
  20. I just switch to the Nav Settings->About screen, where Pioneer and related info are displayed. Did anyone see something not right? In my screen, all letters that have a closed area show it black (not transparent), like P, o, a etc etc. Any clue or is because I modified the Image.res file?
  21. Well, my friend from the land of corruption, what you are saying actually DOES make sense, thank you . However, since when changing schemes, the colors in the map are actually changing, so it must be a difference between each scheme, just how the heck in the world I can isolate the real settings that make the changes? Hmmmm, don't know if I can experiment the schemes switching in the AVIC Emulator ... any idea?
  22. Hmmm, it is what it is, brand icons cannot be enlarge (your gas station is generic, so it is even smaller), they will take up too much real-estate anyway if they are larger. If you can get a copy of the Branding.zip for your region/country, then they will be a bit larger. From the photos of this page, you can see some icons in the HU in USA: http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=23742&start=30 There is nothing else that you can do about that. Sorry.
  23. Yeah, my understanding is that it takes only one file, and priority is given to the outside unzipped file. In your case for the pioneer.ini, it will either taken the outside one (unzipped) or the one in DATA.zip, but not taking some parameters from the file outside, and some others from file within the zip. Am I wrong? Then iGo8 is reading both files and take the parameters settings that it wants?
