Can anyone provide insight on the details of the TeleAtlas maps and Navteq maps? I just want to keep one set of maps on my AVIC, but the trouble is, here in Canada with the TeleAtlas maps provided by Pioneer, I don't have any highway signs, while the Navteq does. But the TeleAtlas maps seems to be more detailed (bigger) for both Canada and the USA. Does both maps provided highway signs in the USA? Anyone has something to share regarding their experience with navigation in Canada? Thanks.

Hmmmm... I live in Canada, and the Navtea maps does provide highway signs, but the TA map doesn't. Are you from the States?

This has nothing to do with the GPS signal strenght, it has to do with the precision of the GPS signal and the map cartography, thus it is normal to see the vehicule a little off from the screen. You can force the "Keep on Route" setting in Navi Map Setup.

Almost all nav mods have the Nav Mute button on the map screen. The latest released DATA.zip is from Abb, for the Chrome theme built on IDT Skin #3. Please search the forum in the Completed Mods section.

Hmmm, you meant Metric or English units ... both are standard, if I have to assign only one as standard, I would say ISO International Metric Standard So back to our thread ... it is selectable under Navi Settings->Regional Settings.

Boris, you suspect that there is another color.ini in the iGo folder. This is not possible because iGo could not combine settings from both files (i.e. some setting in our modified color.ini are correctly taken, according to changes). Anyone

That is what I understood from your post Abb. I posted my question to LesScro over his website; I will post update when I got one.

When I change scheme, the colors and attributes of the map change accordingly, this is not a problem. What Abb is trying to say, I believe, is that when he edits the color.ini file, nothing seems to change in the screen. Still very weird, how could that happens? Boris, do you remember my dark green planned_routed_xxxxx showing black, a couple of posts up?

Hey Michael, I have been alerted by one post in this forum, saying that when modifying the main menu images (3x2=6 of them), be sure to retain the 240x240 dimension, the color dept of 24 bits and the file size, hence my note. This is however defeated yesterday since I got a theme to work after changing some images's color dept and file size, with the bmp dimension remaining the same, of course. So your theme might just work fine .

Abb, I found one problem, it might not from your part of the mod though ... When you start the navigation by pressing the Add Dest button (in the target screen), the HU computes the route then it will display the nav screen and immediately it speaks out the first instruction as on what to do next, if during this time, you press the on-screen mute button, you might no longer be able to bring back the voice, whatever you do (switch ON then OFF then ON etc ...). This happens to me two or three times now ...

You would have to change the POI icons for the gas stations. There is a file called Branding.zip in the "My Flash Disk/APL2/iGo" folder from Pioneer, with plain vanilla basic icons. You have to replace this file with a custom one. Search Branding.zip in the forum, under Hacks/Mods, there are two threads by VBLUE42 on this matter.

This is rather interesting ... you can change the background image but not the color, from the same file ... Hmmm, anyone???

Using 7Zip and zip it to Image.7z before renaming it back to Image.Res. On another note, BMP modified by PS should be instructed to keep the original size, color dept and file size. There is already a blue theme made by Abb. Search for it in this forum.

I replaced the three files inside the APL folder, with files from the AVIC_F900 v322 nowarn.rar archive, everything is working perfect for me. I have a US/CANADA model of AVIC-X710BT.

I saw in Garmin or Magellan GPS that when the list of POI is shown, the distance is continuously updating while the car is moving. This is however not the case with the iGo software, where the distance is static at the moment the list is created. Any mod that addresses this shortcoming?

You're right, I listen to it two times and it got disabled afterward in the Custom menu. There are people who change the greeting though ... don't know what those people think, but this is a mod for you anyway. Road testing today ...
