  1. You can read from this thread: http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=19394&hilit=asian+fonts
  2. How to make it permanent ... asian fonts. My understanding is that you can do an analogy to how Windows XP or whatever version of Windows boots. If you didn't boot completely to Windows then pull the power OFF or press reset, on next boot-up it will prompt you to go to normal mode because Windows thinks that there is a problem. In the case of the AVIC HU, Windows CE is an embedded operation system, the normal mode doesn't really exist so what it does is to reset all settings to default, including your modification for the asian fonts. The resetting will also occur if you soft-reset the HU

  4. From my knowledge, only Diaftia's upcoming new V3.x will have this feature.
  5. Alright, there are couple of things here: 1) For V3.0, you need the hacked ezrider.exe. 2) Put generic license files in the LICENSES folder, possibly others if you have them (just to make sure). 3) Delete the basemap.fbl from the MAP folder. 4) Delete all POI, terrain or 3D building files from their respective folders (POI, DEM and BUILDING), just let them empty. 5) Put only one map file for your state or Canada in the map folder. Let me know. Just for you info, the AVIC_Emulator provided iGo is of V3.0 ... so you should be theoretical able to run any V3.0 DATA.zip.
  6. Look Raymond, let's make it works!!! The original zip file Avic_Emulator contains a workable version of the iGo software, can you make it work in the first place before trying any other configuration with DATA.zip? Or the original that came with the zip file is of V2.0? Since you has success with V2.0 iGo configuration, I assume that you already installed emulator_v1.exe.
  7. If you are reatoring the whole avic and or the data.zip you need to reboot to load this into memory, this is provided in the same menu cheers 34by151 Looks like this is going to be a huge mod .
  8. Yeah, but I know however that TA's POI for Canada is 40 MB and NT's POI is only a mere 8.5 MB. I don't know why there is such a difference.
  9. Just wondering anyone knows how to reduce the size of the ROUTE identifying logo when using NavTeq map? With TA map, I get a single number under a not-so-esthetic white high way sign. I find this logo to be excessively large! Thanks.

  11. yes, I had tried that emulator as well... but just to give you doubt I downloaded it from your link. It works fine with V2...(as I had stated) but crashes with anything to do with V3 or higher! so, can anyone tell me if i mod a +V2 data.zip file it will run in +V3??? Sorry to hear that but mine is working fine, here is my batch file contents. This batch file should be ran from the folder containing the nk.bin file. "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Device Emulator\1.0\deviceemulator.exe" /video 800x480x16 /memsize 256 /c nk.bin /sharedfolder "D:\!Personal Folders\My Temp\My Flas
  12. That's in the new version as is the ability to backup and restore and delete your settings as well as the whole avic I would think that critical files such as DATA.zip and Image.res and any currently opened files could not be replaced using the built-in UI. You still have to boot to TestMode in order to replaced those files. Furthermore, even if you could do so for some other files, you still have to reboot the HU in order to make the changes active. Am I wrong?
  13. For those of you who are interested, attached are the updated file to work with Abb's new V1.02. I will also request Abb to add those changes to his final nav mod in a later time. Just replace the original files in their respective folder under ui_pioneer\800_400\ui and ui_pioneer\common\ui. The onscreen MENU button is shown only when Navi Settings->Custom->Fading Percentage is set to 100%. In this case after the buttons faded out, you can press MENU to bring them up again for 5 seconds or so, then faded out completely again. This is the original spirit of Abb's MENU button.
  14. Com'on, your people stand up and tell Abb that I am not the only one who is appreciating his works. Even if Abb is not currently accepting donation since he doesn't has the ability to test out everything, like MSN etc, because the region that he lives in doesn't have this service, but you guys can still send a word to him. Am I right??? We need Abb to continue his nice work, especially when IDT is in a difficult situation and can't continue his modding for sometime ... And where is Hube2002? Didn't see you around for sometime now .
  15. This download works for me: http://rapidshare.com/files/271970819/Avic_Emulator.zip Please follow provided instructions. Works only by double-clicking on EZRIDER.EXE. Not working for MainMenu.exe, AV.exe or TEL.exe. Good lucks.
  16. Hi Abb, in V1.01, the current speed during navigation has been moved from left to right, but the shaded box used to seat the speed previously was still there on the left side, but empty now.
  17. Thank you very much Abb, for your hard work to maintain such a nice mod and for the tip lead to DPHurst. I will PM him directly. Later.
  18. Hi everyone, A short question, a bit off topic here: what is the parameter to modify to change the navigation color of the calculated route, within COLOR.INI or COLOR3D.INI? What is the different usage between the two files? Sometime the COLOR3D.INI is not present for a scheme. I am using GJ2.1_Night_sky2 scheme, very nice but the calculated route during navigation is BLACK, very hard to read. Thanks.
  19. You can't do that. The color is embedded in the original design of the car. You can only scale it.
  20. No Abb. By normal driving I mean "not in the navigation mode" (i.e. you don't have a destination set and active). "Route simulation" is exactly the same as Navigation, except that you can control the speed, pause etc, therefore they both have this overlapping problem. I guess it should be fixed . Hope that it is clearer now.
  21. Since there is no more space on the left side, considering also the additional commands for route simulation as in the above photo, I would suggest, during navigation ONLY, putting the current speed at the right side. But use a white box like the speed limit sign instead (as previous used in IDT's mods), as this would be really neat .
  22. Yes. During normal driving there is no issue, because the LANE INFO would not be shown during normal driving .
  23. Abb, so here is the pic taken during a Route Simulation, sorry for its quality though ... as you can see on the lower left corner, current speed overlaps with lane info. As for the signposts, I think that the menu buttons are not shown while the signposts are displayed. Is this the intent? I don't know, if so then it is good. I will confirm the menu buttons disapperance later during real drive. EDITED: The buttons are shown under the signposts, not disappeared, just underneath.
