  1. II have been asked to post instructions for streaming audio to the AVIC. I have an avic-z1 updated to z-3. It did the same thing before updating to z3. I am using the iphone 3gs and the CD-BTB200. As far as exactly what I did, that is foggy, I was playing around to get it to work. As best as I can remember. Place the iphone in discover mode. Select ext 2 option under av and push band button until BT audio appears. I may have fumbled around from here to get things to work. The options are non specific and you may need to try the non descript up and down arrows. It streams ANYT
  2. Just installed my new hard drive with all the goodies from Garret. PERFECT I wish everything else in life was so easy. Thanks Garret. My now z3 and the z1 before will stream anything I play on my iphone. If anyone is interested in how I did it I can post instructions. My understanding was that this could not be done. I am using the cd-btb200.
  3. If you say everything is better after an update then maybe I should do it. I am just so happy with the unit as is and willing to live with this usb problem. I have had problems with updates with other equipment in the past but if you say it should go well then I will give it thought. I guess you are talking about the z3 update, will this erase my stored music?
  4. the unit has already been returned and the new one does the same thing. scared to death to try an update, I will live with the current situation. I just keep the entire usb unit in my glove box and reconnect the ip cable when switching drives. Thanks for all the input
  5. avic z1 was recent rebuild under warrenty
  6. I have tried several thumb drives and get the same result; I have formatted all drives with fat32. I just drag and drop to add the files. Thank you for your response.
  7. Thanks however I have tired every setting there is. Nothing seems to work except unplugging the ip connector or resetting each time a different or the same thumb drive is inserted.
  8. The USB is currently recognized as ext1. How do I change that to another source? Thanks for the response
  9. Just purchased the CD-UB100 USB adapter. The unit will only detect the USB thumb drive if I disconnect and reconnect the ip out cable. This has to be accomplished each time the USB thumb drive is reconnected. Works 0% of the time if you just insert the thumb drive and works 100% of the time if you disconnect and reconnect the ip cable. I have reset the unit several times. I have replaced the unit and all wiring with another unit. I have directly connected the thumb drive to the CD-UB100, the results are the same. I have varied the CD-UB100’s position in the daisy chain and no change. Any i
  10. I found a quick fix for this. Sorry for the lack of detail but my truck is in the shop so I can't tell you exactly which buttons but I will get you close. While lights are on and view is dim, just hit the up arrow (located bottom right of the touch screen) to get the icon popups. One of them as I recall on the left side gives you day brilliance during lights on operations. I could give you specifics if I had my vehicle. This works great for me.

  15. Have you guys seen the hack in the xm section of this forum, works great. You can select music from the avic or the ipod. My wife did it first try from the directions listed in the xm forum. She has the 80 gb ipod.
