  1. I know this thread is old. I know the X920BT is even older. Any chance anyone else is still running this unit and recently experienced a bluetooth meltdown like I did and has a link for the bluetooth firmware update that still works?
  2. Does anyone know the maximum sd card size you can use on the X710bt? I'm using an 8gb now but it filled up fast.
  3. I've had the same issue with my X920, seems to be about 30-50 feet behind. No VSS connected. Our other cars with OEM Lexus nav are spot on accurate (center of the arrow), as is the X710 in my ES (also no VSS connected). The X920 for whatever reason isn't as accurate.
  4. You're right in the respect that you take a risk purchasing a cheap, foreign camera. I took that risk and got lucky. The link I provided is to the camera I installed. It's very good quality compared to what else I researched online. I was even able to converse with the seller via chat so I knew when it shipped, and he provided me with a tracking number. I ordered it monday, had it friday of the next week. If anyone is interested I can snap a pic or video of it in action. It's not garbage, at least insofar as I have had it, time will tell.
  5. I used an Audiovox ACA200W with my X710BT install. I'm pretty disappointed with; the camera's rotation bolts are rusting and the quality is poor. It's benefits are that it can rotate and is not one of the license plate varients. IMO the con's outweighed the pro's so I spent some time searching and found a much nicer one from a foreign vendor in china for my X920BT install. It was cheap, chrome plated, the bubble type you see on luxury makes, good quality, required only a single hole to drill (which the wire also feeds through) and has a clean look. It's downside is that it doesn't rotate so th
  6. The Droid X works pretty well with my X920. Bluetooth phone and contacts couldn't be better, although there is much to be desired in regards to streaming bluetooth and Pandora. I can play/pause/skip on bluetooth audio, with Pandora all I can do is play audio with no control over it. What I would really like to see is an effective way to transfer contacts from android to an x710.
  7. I just got the Droid X and am trying to send the contacts over to the X710BT. It always says downloading failed or something similar. Contacts went over fine to my X920BT but I believe that unit syncs contacts somewhat differently. Can anyone give me instructions on how to send contacts over from a Droid X running Android 2.2 to an X710BT?
  8. I skimmed through that thread, here's what I've collected as possible remedies; - Pair the Phone/Avic with the BT volume all the way up on both units - Wrap some tape around the vents on the side of the mic - Don't touch the Map/OK button until the call has connected - Move the mic to the upper left corner/a pillar - Check some settings on the Avic - Repair the phone with the Avic - Make sure the mic isn't in the path of any air vents I like that last point, because I may have had heat on in the car, and in that car the heat is always directed the same way as defog...the windshie
  9. That's disappointing. I've actually been very happy thus far with my X710BT despite the sometimes negative reviews these Pioneer's get. I haven't taken the car witht he X920BT on a very far drive yet or even on the freeway, I was thinking that after driving around on varying types of roads it would calibrate itself more accurately. Is there any firmware update or anything I can do short of sending the unit in for service regarding the bluetooth? Thanks for your time
  10. Did you go to the thread I pointed you at that deals extensively with EXACTLY this issue and what people have done? No, I haven't had the time to read through the ten pages (no sarcasm, I actually intend to skim through it). Are there actual solutions or would my time be better spent otherwise? Anything else regarding the navigation lag issue?
  11. viewtopic.php?f=32&t=29628 ^^ Follow that link, on page 6 there is a .cab that modifies the bluetooth registry settings. I have a TP2 and the .cab fixed the issue's.
  12. Is there a calibration type thing for the GPS on the X920BT? I used my X710BT today and the center of the arrow represents exactly where I am located. On the X920BT even the tip of the arrow is 20 feet behind my actual location. And what have people done to rectify (or attempt to rectify) the shitty microphone (or is it something with bluetooth) on the X920BT?
  13. Two Issue's I'm noticing with my X920bt; - The navigation arrow that represents your car on the map always seems to be 20-40 feet behind where I actually am located. My X710bt meanwhile is spot on accurate. - Everyone says I sound like shit through the X920bt's microphone. I have it well placed in the same spot the mic is located with my X710 which everyone says I sound fine on. I did notice the mic's are slightly different between the two models. Is the X920bt notorious for a shitty mic or something? Otherwise I'm loving the X920bt
  14. My apologies, I didn't know there was a separate list for authorized online retailers. Still the Sonic Electronics deal is pretty good. Sonic has been pretty good price matching for me in the past. Perhaps if you give them a call they'll give you the MIR or at least a portion automatically off. Worth a shot IMO.
  15. Does anyone know the max capacity the Micro SD and USB can read on the X920BT? I thought I read somewhere 8gb but I think that was for the X710BT. Thanks
  16. Sonic Electronics has it for $660 last I checked. $660 - $100 MIR is only a little more than what many of us paid, plus they give you credit towards a wire harness.
  17. Metra harness's are usually pretty good from what I can tell. The one I used on my Lexus didn't even have a wire for the illumination, I had to crimp the unit's illumination wire onto the stock radio illumination wire.
  18. What's the resolution of the X920bt? I'm looking to make a splash screen image for it.
  19. Oh yeah for sure. I'm looking at $630 for everything, that's the wire harness, ground loop isolators, dash trim kit and backup cam. That's pretty good considering a shop would probably charge upwards of $1,000 for a comparable setup. If you're installing yourself, be super-careful to NOT plug any RCA connections to the unit while the power's on or the grounding wires haven't been connected. Pioneer has some internal fuses that fry easily if either of these things happen, and then you have a brick. So, disconnect battery, ground unit, make connections, and then hook the battery back up a

  21. I think what he means is you can buy items from other stores through Amazon. You go to Amazon.com and search for your item and when you add it to your Amazon cart and pay for it you're actually buying from a 3rd party... sometimes w/o knowing unless you pay very close attention. If you accidentally do this and the store you happen to buy from isn't a Pioneer authorized dealer your rebate will be denied even if you send everything for the rebate in properly. He's just trying to let you know that you need to make sure you buy from Amazon (or another authorized store) to get the rebate approve
  22. Yes, It's from Amazon. I have the rebate form so all is good.
  23. Whew, I got the discount, just have to get the right person. X920BT for $895 - 30% - $100 = $526. I can definitely live with that, haha. One more thing, I was told the rebate comes with the actual nav unit when I receive it in the mail. Is this correct? No link/rebate form was provided after I submitted the order. EDIT: Rebate info can be found here: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... ion+Rebate
