    SALE AT AMAZON!

If a X920BT is what you guys are interested in PM me. I've made no secret as to my personal feelings towards the X920BT I had installed for a couple weeks so it's for sale since I replaced it. I haven't yet posted it for sale but it's basically brand new with a Pioneer mounting kit (cage/can, trim ring, brackets... $40) a Connects2 steering wheel control adapter cable ($10) & a 2gb MicroSD card I will throw in with it. I'm not giving it away so don't PM me thinking you'll get it for half price but it's the best deal you'll find right now.
  3. While most nav units have POIs that number in the millions the Pioneer seems to have a list that numbers into the dozens, maybe. I didn't have any luck finding anything unless I looked up the address and just types it in manually. Even then half the time it said that address didn't exist. It's funny how people who own Pioneer decks w/o the ability to get something else want to argue about it but the simple fact is that it's just awful and that's being polite. If you want my thought on the topic (which you requested) it would be to cut your losses and get something else if a usable nav is somet

    Microphone

The included mic DOES have noise canceling. That's what those 'gills' are on the sides. The vocoder is in the front facing part and the rear slots are for the noise canceling. Now if the head unit doesn't have the software to deal with what the mic is sending it then that's once again a Pioneer issue, not a mic issue.

    SALE AT AMAZON!

I think what he means is you can buy items from other stores through Amazon. You go to Amazon.com and search for your item and when you add it to your Amazon cart and pay for it you're actually buying from a 3rd party... sometimes w/o knowing unless you pay very close attention. If you accidentally do this and the store you happen to buy from isn't a Pioneer authorized dealer your rebate will be denied even if you send everything for the rebate in properly. He's just trying to let you know that you need to make sure you buy from Amazon (or another authorized store) to get the rebate approve
  6. Bingo. Pioneer has taken a HUGE step backwards in features and options while other manufacturers are adding more to their units at every price point. Why people are defending that I don't know. This is when other manufacturers already offered more features than previous models so Pioneer's idea of being more competitive is to remove features, remove functionality and lower the price? What's next, a cardboard box with a map of where you live taped to it for $250? Seems like if it's cheap enough someone will buy it and love it.
  7. If that's the case then I'm guilty of grand larceny because my replacement for my X920BT is a Kenwood DNX-8120 that I got used from Craigslist for $400 and after I sold the accessories he had with it that I don't need I'm into it for about $250ish and it's absolutely flawless. I can't even begin to list how much better this unit is in EVERY single aspect that a car A/V, multimedia, navigation can be. Those that say the Pioneer unit is 'good enough' would be singing an entirely different tune if you had a Kenwood installed in their vehicle for two weeks. Maybe if I didn't know any better and
  8. And to you as well good sir.
  9. I know this is an older thread but thought I would add my two cents here in case anyone is still looking or wants to try something else out. I use a program called Vuze which utilizes a single interface for several torrent sites. Check it out, I like it and it's free.
  10. I've already posted a fair amount but just realized I never said hi so.... hi.
  11. The mic and cable appear to be roughly the same size as the Kenwood piece. I would say the cable uses the same caliber wire inside so I'm not sure where the cost savings would be unless it's just a cheaply manufactured mic which is quite possible. It just seems like a stupid idea to put a 2.5mm port on the back of your deck and utilize the same mic. I would say it's so one doesn't confuse the mic w/the audio output jack but the Pioneer doesn't even have one on the back like the Kenwood does. It uses the cables so of would be hard to mix those up. I don't understand it but in this economy I'm s
  12. That was the plan until I saw you were over there too.
  13. Welp, good news and bad news. The bad news is that in Pioneer's infinite wisdom they utilized a 2.5mm mic jack in an effort to buck the industry standard. This means that not only was I unable to test the mic to rule it out as the problem but I had to pull the mic and run yet another mic behind me dash, up the A-pillar and across the head liner to the over head console. So there went some more time of my life and I can't even report if the mic was the issue or not. From the sounds of it though I'm not alone so if it is the mic then Pioneer is supplying bogus mics to save a few pennies w
  14. No, it doesn't. It's horrible. In fact, if you've read the recent posts in this forum you will see that I've had a very negative experience with the BT and it appears as though I'm not alone. The Navigation might be even worse. Just the other day I was coming down from the mountains West of Denver and taking my wife somewhere. We came out right by I70 and Colfax. Instead of telling me to get on I70 and head east to I25 to take south (our destination was South of Denver right off of I25) it wanted me to take Colfax through the heart of Denver to Colorado Blvd then south. That route wo
