  1. Actually, I quite like that feature: it's my car, so every time several people with cell phones get in the car at the same time with their Bluetooth enabled, it ONLY pairs with my phone. Much BETTER than the VW - as I don't have to turn the ignition off, kill Bluetooth on whichever device I DON'T want to pair with, and then start the car again. That's the process on the VW, and it blows. I can change whichever phone is paired to the Pioneer, while in motion, without downing the system, at any time I choose - far better in my view.
  2. I guess we should be contacting Pioneer and complaining to them
  3. Interesting - I wonder if Windows Phone 7 includes AVRCP 1.3. I know a local T-Mobile dealer who'll let me try a couple of phones in my car, so I'll add the WPhone to the list. The tiles are nice, and there's no lag on the phone like there are on so many Androids
  4. have you tried different apps to stream to the Pioneer other than the one you mentioned? Pandora maybe?
  5. That's odd - as everything I've read suggests that the Pioneer decks have the AVRCP 1.3 spec built-in, and iOS4.0 supposedly also supports the full spec, aka meta-data, song titles, artists names, etc. What apparently must be the truth is that either Apple or Pioneer is fibbing. How do we find out which is which? I took my iPad out to the garage, ran Pandora, and linked via Bluetooth to the Pioneer. No artist - no song title - just a play and stop button appeared. Since no phones support this that I can find (other than the gent earlier in this thread who claimed that his WM 6.5 phone
  6. What a shame that the frickin' iPhone seems to be the only phone supporting the full Bluetooth spec (other than WM 6.5, but that's not gonna happen for my next phone). Android - get your act together - this is the future!
  7. New code is in - 25% off selected Pioneer products which appears to include the X920 and Z120 XO8YOJVI have fun if only I could find a MSN tuner cheap
  8. Johnny Depp, as noted, you don't like Pioneer. And that's ok, but I'm not sure how you can blame Pioneer when Microsoft kills off MSN Direct, and Google kills off Google411. If George Bush ruined the economy, would you blame Jon Stewart? Do you have a more logical, well thought-out argument?
  9. yup - that's how it works in California as well - I've never had to finish typing a name, just the first few letters.
  10. if you're making the connection using the RCA connectors on the 920, just make sure you do so with NO POWER on whatsoever. Some people disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety. Call the pioneer number in the manual for advice as well if you need some. As each car is different, I can't help you with your specific install.

yeah, mine finally finished browsing 3,000 songs, but only used 800 for its' playlists. You're right, some of the choices seemed out of place, but I guess the graphic is sorta fun. How do you make it re-shuffle the playlists it creates so it creates new ones? There's no manual of any kind that I can find, so if there's a link to one, please post it.

Has anyone spent the time to thouroughly check this app out - aka letting it spend all night reading your iTunes library and assembling it's "sphere's" (for lack of a better word)? Is it any different than just using Genius playlists? Better? Worse? Waste of time? Life changing? just wondering
  13. Sorry, was away in India for a few weeks. We continue with today's code = 25% off select products (which seems to include the 920 and 120) 89ANXAWU good luck
  14. did you ever get this to work? Any other Android users out there who have experimented with your expensive new phones
  15. Amazon sale - 30% off, then an Amazon daily special, which reduced it by $200, and then the $100 rebate. Awesome. Using very old Nokia and Bluetooth is fine - no backup cam yet, likely within 6 months. Be carefull with the install.
  16. Technology changes every year - I imagine, in 15 months, when MSN dies, there will be an even better radio for my car, likely running either Windows 7 variant, or Android. I bought my first iPad 3 months ago. It will be obsolete next June. The tech world moves quickly. And doesn't MSN go away in January 2012? It's apparent you seem bitter about something, so it's likely whatever I say won't make you feel any better about Pioneer. Honestly, I never planned to use MSN. Live POI? Explain further please. Who is Jason? I hear Google is killing-off Google 411. Oh no - whatever will I do n
  17. wow - I hope Pioneer updates the software pronto to reflect this - nothing worse than a greyed out icon to remind you of something you don't have anymore
  18. as time wears on, I'm just lovin' my x920BT more and more every day. For what I paid (sub $400), this has been the best tech purchase I've made in a long time. Sure, the nav could be a little more slick, and the BT quality has some up in arms (mine seems to be mostly fine), but overall, this is a great machine that has made my driving experience better every day. I'll keep hammering Pioneer for improvements, but overall, this has been a great purchase. I even find the ECO thing mildly amusing, especially the submarine "ping" that goes off when I goose the throttle. ha
  19. That's the kind of thing I would likely complain to Pioneer about, both by telephone and in print (email). That's the only way these things will ever get rectified. and you never know when it will be too late: http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20101006/od_afp/canadatransportpoliceoffbeat_20101006163413
  20. If anyone wants to sell their MSN Direct tuner, then please personal message me. thanks
  21. you get phonebook integration with this? not sure I understand how, and where you'd see the phonebook info. explain please
  22. which make and model - could be good to know for those who are having troubles
  23. And, like clockwork, the daily email push from Amazon. This time it's a little less: 25%, and, from what I see, the z120 and x920 aren't listed in the "100" products. However, I degress. 89ANXAWU It's amazing what you can achieve on the phone with a CSR and a smile
  24. Oh yeah for sure. I'm looking at $630 for everything, that's the wire harness, ground loop isolators, dash trim kit and backup cam. That's pretty good considering a shop would probably charge upwards of $1,000 for a comparable setup. If you're installing yourself, be super-careful to NOT plug any RCA connections to the unit while the power's on or the grounding wires haven't been connected. Pioneer has some internal fuses that fry easily if either of these things happen, and then you have a brick. So, disconnect battery, ground unit, make connections, and then hook the battery back up a
