  1. Should I upgrade to the 1.07 firmware posted here in this forum? It's not on the official US site, so just checking with everyone.
  2. I'm 95% certain that the "10 second" lag you're experiencing is because of the album art. If you have the option to turn off album art, try that and then try changing songs. I don't believe this is a limitation of JVC. I had 2 other consumer electronics items that controlled ipods and displayed album art (Alpine and DLO HomeDock) - both SUCKED. Once you turn off album art, the navigation becomes VERY fast.
  3. Maybe this is a little too much to ask, but can you take a video walking through some of the operations of the unit (specifically the iPod scrolling, album art display, navigating through songs), also just general use of the unit. Thanks!
  4. AVIC-F900BT is up on the crutchfield site.. http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/ ... 130AVICF90
  5. Here it is folks, it's been up on the FCC site for a while, but I just noticed it tonight. AVIC-F500BT Hardware Manual You'll notice a couple things, new info on the cradle as well as the optional OEM integration device, the ND-G500. The cradle looks good, but I'm unhappy that it doesn't house ALL the connections. It appears as thought a person still has to hookup the iPod cable directly to the unit as opposed to a connection on the harness (they should have had both options). Second, the GPS connector is also separate from the harness. Third, the TMC cable is yet another cable
  6. Not sure... At first glance thought it was Double DIN, than if you look at the pics and read the text, it mentions it as a standalone device that plugs into the aux jack of your factory radio. But if you look at that last pic I posted, its says "in-dash unit"
  7. 6 observations that aren't specified in the article 1) For the first time in god knows how many years, it looks like they finally built a new Navi GUI. It now looks like a normal up to date navi unit (welcome to 2008) 2) Album art (woohoo!!!!) on ipod 3) Built-in Mic 4) The screen got smaller than on the Avic-D3 (I don't like that) 5) Slick looking interface 6) I just realized that it looks like a complete standalone unit...hmm...wonder if they'll bring this tech to the D4/Z3...??
  8. AVIC-F500BT Pioneer has launched the AVIC-F500BT that they describe as the first hybrid navigation system that brings the power of an in-dash device with the convenience of a portable system. Designed to integrate with virtually any factory audio system, the AVIC-F500BT provides the opportunity for consumers to add unparalleled navigation features and extended entertainment capabilities without modifying existing car stereos. The AVIC-F500BT will offer advanced voice technology for control of Apple iPod music players and Bluetooth enabled cellular phones. "The AVIC-F50
  9. I just installed the CD-BTB200 and hooked it up to a constant battery line. For some reason it can't remember any pairings. When I turn off the car and turn it back on, I have to repair my phone. Any help or insight would be appreciated. Thanks!
  10. My fiance's Wolfsburg doesn't have steering wheel controls. I bought the Scosche dash kit (the same as the OP). It matches up pretty well with the look of the dash. Also, I installed the Mic on the top of the steering wheel column. It looks nice there, but several people have told me the mic cuts out when I turn my head away from looking forward. I'm hoping turning off the Echo Cancellation feature will solve this problem, because I don't know where else to mount the mic without having to take apart the headliner.
  11. I actually hooked up the adapter to the powered antenna lead on the D3 and all works fine.
  12. Two comments: 1) I used an AVIC-88DVD 3 years ago. I just installed a D3 into my fiance's car. Even though considerable time has passed between the introduction of the AVIC-88DVD and the D3, the interface hasn't changed, nor the map layout, and there have only been marginal improvements in the software. 2) I feel this unit runs very similar software as compared to the Z1, just minus the hard drive. It seems like Pioneer spent time intentionally leaving features out of this unit that are found on the Z1/2. Every company needs an entry-level product, I suppose this is Pioneers'.
  13. what about the nav mfd function??? does it work? i got factory nav & dont want to lose that function. You're going to lose that if you don't use the factory head unit. I think only some Blaupunkt units will work with the VW/Audi MFD.
  14. Got a brand new D3 locally through a seller on Craigslist for $550. It was brand-new in the box (all parts included, sealed discs, sealed manuals, unused wiring, etc.). Didn't ask where he got it or why he was selling for so cheap (one could only assume). I took the unit out of the plastic bag to inspect it and it looked brand new with no fingerprints on the screen or anything. There wasn't a protective cover on the screen, but it looked uninstalled/unused. Only problem is a lack of warranty. I drove 45 miles to pick it up (90 miles total by the time I got back home). The guy said
