  1. My guess is that your voice catalogue is hosed. And if you have an iPod hooked up, I would try forcing the head unit to rebuild your catalogue by doing the following 1. Hook up your iPod to iTunes and make a change to your media (add/delete a song or an album). Whatever it takes to change the configuration of the iPod. 2. Turn on the head unit, press the "OK" button, and make sure VR cataloging is turned on. 3. Plug up your iPod and let it sync up completely 4. Try playing something off the iPod. "Play Artist Michael Jackson" (or whatever artist you have on the iPod) If this works,
  2. I'm sure your media card is functioning. I think your issue is either your media has DRM restrictions (google it!!), or the vids are not in the correct format. The SD media player is very picky with file formats. The EASIEST way to get videos to play on your system try this YOUTUBE method 1) Go to YOUTUBE (duh) 2) Search and launch any video you desire 3) Copy the URL of the video from the YOUTUBE address bar 4) Go to either Keepvid.com or Savevid.com 5) Paste the previously copied URL into the URL box 6) Select the "MP4" file format (only this format will work with Z110/Z120) 7)

  4. Keep in mind, when running from the SD card in "MUSIC" mode, only directories with compatible music files will show up. In other words, if you have file formats that are not listed as compatible (flac, m4p, ogg, etc.) these files WILL NOT SHOW UP on the headunit.
  5. You have to re-activate your account through the MSN-Direct website. Try the link below. It sometimes doesn't work so try it more than once. MSN Direct
  6. Yeah, that DRM limitation is a b***h. I tried converting a few "DRM-locked" media files but the resolution is nowhere near the quality of the original, and the file size ends up bigger (WTF); not worth the time in converting. I'm just waiting for someone to crack the DRM limitation for the Z110/Z120. In the meantime, I'm grabbing as much from YOUTUBE and VEVO (which is better than YOUTUBE) as I possibly can. The DRM videos play very well on a PC so I still get some use out of them. I'm glad I could help. *** UPDATE *** 11/15/2011 FYI, I stand corrected; there are no DRM restric

  8. I am having a similar issue. My mic is running up the passenger side pillar, across the top of the windshield and it pops out a few inches past my EZ-Pass. When I am on the phone, I am told it sounds like a lot of wind along with some whining interference sounds. I'm not sure if the EZ-Pass is interfering with the bluetooth signal, or the mic is picking up noise from the EZ-Pass device. I did, however, notice that if you turn the screen off (hold down the menu button for a few seconds) while you are on the phone, the interference noise is lowered. This tells me that the issue with the
  9. I know this thread has been dead for a lttle while but I feel this is the perfect thread to throw in my 2 cents. Because I read about how short the CD-IU50V cable is, I purchased a $20 CD-IU200V cable from EBAY (yes it is a knock off) and had it installed some time back in January 2010. Since the install, I had issues with the screen flickering when running video from my iPod Touch 1st gen. I also had MAJOR audio noise when switching to iPod video. There was a loud high-pitched squeal coming from ALL my seakers. I had the same trouble when I tried 4 other iPods. I came to the conclusi
  10. I had an issue with playing vids on DVD, and when I changed source and then went back to DVD, the DVD kept playing and it would do this everytime. I figured out that in the settings, you can assign a source to the REAR connection and I had it set to DVD. So when I changed sources for the main screen, the rear signal would continue playing. If you set the rear screens to "OFF", the source is only active in the main screen and all other sources are paused. Hope this helps
  11. When you get the four RAR files, open the first one with WINRAR (Windows). the four RAR files are part of a whole. They are not inividual extractions. WINRAR will know what to do with them. You should then extract two directories and a file using WINRAR. Read earlier posts for further instructions
  12. Getting to 100% means the files were successfully copied from your SD card to the internal flash of the HU. There may be an issue with one or more of the files. Sounds like file corruption. I would get another copy of the update, REMOVE and replace the two files within the update (do not overwrite them), format the SD card, copy over the necessary files to the SD card, and try again.
  13. The RAR files are parts of a whole; it isn't really 4 separate files. When you extract the first one with WINRAR, the program will put all the files together and produce the necessary directories. Also, you CANNOT use an SD card smaller than 4GB for the contents of CNSD-110FM-SD1. The contents of CNSD-110FM-SD2 can fit on your 1GB. And, NO, you cannot use anything else but the SD card slot. Read filezz post for directions on how to install.
  14. This is off topic but this is yet another reason not to buy stuff on eBay if there is no way you can tell if its genuine or not. And just so everyone knows, memory products on eBay, particularly SD cards are often lower capacity cards from what they are advertised as. I just wanted to let everyone know that my failed update attempts were due to faulty hardware, and not to discredit shortfuse for all his hard work. And as for the EBAY seller (beststore778), he/she will get what they deserve in time. I did, however, give negative feedback to warn others of the wrong doing.
  15. UPDATE: I just found out my 32GB card is fake and the update did not exist on my card when updating. I am assuming this is why it didn't work. I will get a genuine card and try the update later. EBAY sellers are sometimes EVIL!!!!
  16. I already installed v1.001 from Pioneer but I can't get your FAKE v1.002 to install. The HU doesn't recognize the SD card as an update card, just a simple SD card. I have the AVICZ110 folder in the root directory, and it has the two files replaced. I have no idea what to do next. I did try and upgrade from Z110 to Z120 anyway, just to see if the v1.002 update took but it just didnt tell me it did. Unfortunately, I can't get pass the PASSWORD prompt. Even if I use all characters and fill up the box. Please let me know what to do next.
