  1. Yes, you can create custom POI icons and have them show on the map while you're driving (at least on the 120). One significant shortcoming, however, is that your icon will apply to the entire list of waypoints in your file. You cannot assign different icons to different POIs within the same file.
  2. If you are playing DVD audio through the car's speakers, you can choose in the preferences panel whether or not you want the audio to be muted when there is a guidance prompt. I'm under the impression all speakers are muted equally, not just the front ones, but I could be wrong. In your case, just choose not to have the volume muted and the guidance prompts will simply play over the DVD audio. It may be difficult to hear, but DVD audio will not be interrupted. For this function, dual zone audio is not even necessary. If you want to listen to a second source, then you need the dual zone
  3. Dual audio doesn't mean your car speakers are split into two zones. It means you can send the video (and audio) of a DVD to your rear monitor and at the same time listen to a different source such as navigation prompts. The DVD sound would play out of whatever sound output is selected at the rear monitor (built in speakers, headphone jack, wireless headphones, etc.) while navigation sound continues to come through the vehicle's speakers. I usually fade the vehicle speakers 100% to the front when the rear monitors are on to create 2 "zones."
  4. If you're streaming mp3s, song, artist and album names will show but album art will not. When streaming Pandora, nothing shows. This is with a blackberry 9700.
  5. That's too bad. Looks like cumbersome it is.
  6. Is it possible to have different icons within the same POI file? Seems like editing the icon changes it for all points in a custom POI file. For an upcoming road trip, I'd like to have different icons for points of interest, hotels, restaurants, etc. I've resorted to creating multiple files grouped by category which is cumbersome. Thought about loading all the points as favorites but can't seem to use custom icons for those. So can it be done?
  7. You can use any source up front. The restrictions lie with what can be piped to the rear.
  8. Is your speed sensor wire connected? I remember the installation guide saying it's not necessary for the unit to work, but it does help with accuracy. I don't know if that's just when driving through tunnels etc. where there's no signal or if it helps overall. In any case, may be worth a shot if it's not hooked up.
  9. I have a BB 9700 and this is what I've found: If listening to BT audio and a call comes in, track will pause then auto resume after the call. If I switch to a different source such as FM radio, track will pause and phone will remain connected but only as a phone, not an audio device. If I switch back to BT audio, phone will auto connect but I have to manually unpause music. Reconnect is pretty much immediate. Glitch: if I'm on a different source while mp3 is paused and a call comes in, the track will start playing on my phone when the call ends.
  10. Wow. Tried with a Motorola Cliq XT tonight running OS 1.5 and can't even get audio to work right. Track will play for a second then goes into a permanent fast forward mode. I don't know what's going on.
  11. Same experience here. Factory bluetooth for calls on our Sequoia was okay and the Pioneer is likewise just okay. I'll admit I hardly ever use the feature so I'm not too picky about it.
  12. Nevermind what I said before. I had done the bypass, but the pin must have pulled loose because I'm getting a parking brake error on startup now.
  13. Speed shows on the 3D calibration page, but you can't access that page while the vehicle is moving. When your speed is zero, you can go the page and your speed will show once you start moving again. But if you exit the page you won't be able to see it until your next stop.
  14. Okay, finally got it figured out. Need to create folder "NDB" then "CUSTOMPOI" and drop your KLM files in there. Haven't had time to see what happens with custom icons yet.
  15. Sounds like you've gotten it to work. Can you tell me what folders the application created on your card?
