  1. Thanks for the reply. That's the strangest thing about this, it seems to have "swapped" left and right inside (software?) the receiver or amp - it spontaneously did this on Thursday without any cables being touched or changed. Does this mean my amp is toast?
  2. Greetings - I have an Avic Z2 that has been working great until yesterday, until it developed a very odd problem. Basically, when I drove to work, all was good, but on the drive home from startup I noticed that the stereo output to the front speakers (driven by an amp) had been REVERSED (i.e. putting fader to left put the sound to the right speaker, and vice versa). The rear speakers (driven by my Avic) were fine and still operating normally. So, it sounded quite horrible! I tried doing the simple button reset, and nothing changed. I also disconnected the battery; no difference.
  3. Other than updating the maps and a few other "tweaks", does this upgrade include any downgrades, safety or otherwise? Can anyone confirm that the gps direction voice stays the same, and that none of the services, etc. are limited, for safety or other reasons? My last update was the 2010.
  4. Aha Radio works up here. The issue with Pandora has to do with Canada's music licensing rights groups, as pushed by their unions. They are demanding incredibly large "ransom payments", and thus the content owners have just decided to give us a pass.
  5. I agree. I used to have a Z2 with Z3 firmware in my car, and it was better in every way. The Avic Z140BH is probably the worst consumer electronics product I have ever purchased. Pioneer obviously does not care about its customers if it releases half-finished garbage like this. Other than slighly better visuals, it is a downgrade in every possible way. I'm actually seriously considering getting my Z2 reinstalled, and just selling the Z140BH - at a loss. What a waste of money.
  6. Dude, I totally agree. I don't get it either - other than eyecandy, the Z2/Z3 seems to have been a lot better. I sure hope Pioneer delivers some great firmware upgrades.
  7. I just bought the Z140BH as a replacement/upgrade for my AVIC Z2 (running Z3 firmware) which had developed a connection problem with my iPod module, and which I'll admit I was too lazy to try to diagnose. Anyway, I have to say - beyond visuals, not really much of an upgrade in a lot of ways, as per the following: 1. l don't get why they eliminated the IR remote eye on the front of the unit - I don't have steering wheel controls on my car, and the CDSR1 worked perfectly with my Z2. So my shop had to install that PAC remote unit, but I find the response time much slower, and some feat
  8. I am trying to find the native/best resolution for both backgrounds and the splash screen for my Avic Z2, which has been flashed to a Z3 firmware. While I am getting the aspect ratio correct, I find that they look grainy once I put them on my unit. If someone could let me know, I would be most grateful. I looked in the manual, and it only gave me the maximum resolution for an image, which is a little misleading, as the Avic just downsamples it to make it fit on the screen. Any input would be appreciated, thanks!
