  1. Almost a year later and I am still having this exact same problem. I have tried using different grounds and signals for the HID's.. the only thing that seems to work is if take the HID's out of the picture.
  2. Are you running HID's? I have the exact same problem when I turn on my HID fog lights. I was actually coming here today to see if anyone had found a fix for this.. i am going on a year now with a very similar problem.
  3. i haven't had a chance to start troubleshooting my issue. If i have my fog lights on before i start the car radio works fine. Anytime after radio is booted it cuts out. in my case i have aftermarket fogs which have their own harness. To turn them on there is a button that draws 12v with ign on from the dimmer and power for the fogs comes direct from battery.
  4. thank you for your reply. Do we know what the issue is? Do the z1XX have a protect mode that cuts audio out if it gets a weird signal? If it were my headlights on a HID harness I would of been removed the harness. Since it's my aftermarket fogs.. I will need to somehow supply them relayed power. I need to know what exactly the problem is so that I can then try to figure out a method to get around it. If its an RF issue from the ballast I dont seem to understand why removing the relay would fix it. The ballast is still going to send the same RF frequencies. (at least I think)
  5. I'm having the exact same issue however mine is with my fog lights which are ran through an "oem" harness that is relayed. I would love to get a better understanding of why the POS relay causes the issue.. after reading so many of these threads i am confident in Vblues findings. My problem now becomes how do i bypass the harness that wires the fog lights. The harness is actually for the fogs not the HID's. It would be the same harness used if i went with standard halogen bulbs.
  6. Vehicle/Deck info 2007 Toyota Tundra CrewMax z120bt Kenwood XR5S Last night I replaced all the door speakers, added 12 inch sub and into my Tundra. I have had my z120bt in my truck for a couple of months. During those months I added aftermarket oem fog lights to my Tundra with DDM HID's. Everyone has been working fine. During the testing of the install the radio/amp/speakers all were running fine. After buttoning everything up I turn on my fog lights and the system goes dead. Amp is turned off and my z120 while it appears to be "on" is not pushing out any audio almost
  7. RonS, I'm pretty sure he is talking about a 2011 Mitsubishi Evolution GSR. KevinR, dunno if this would be helpful in anyways. i've been researching an issue all day with poor reception/no audio with aftermarket HID's. I am not sure if the 2011 GSR's come with HID's standard but if you did an aftermarket HID kit there are tons of threads that reference poor quality reception after installation due to ballast interference.
  8. Im troubleshooting a different issue but im interested in your fix. What is the difference betweent he pink and blue wires? My issue is, when i turn on my HID fog lights.. my z120 shuts off audio. I am wired into the blue amp wire.
  9. Sorry to bump such an old thread but my google-fu has brought me here. Last night I replaced all the door speakers along with wiring up a 5 channel amp with sub into my tundra. I have had DDM HID kits in the headlights and fog lights with no problem for quite some time. during our testing of the install everthing was fine. When i go to leave i decide to check my fog lights and boom system goes dead. Amp is turned off and my z120 while it appears to be "on" is not pushing out any audio almost like it went into a protect of sorts. Shutting the truck completely off and bac
