A voice command would be nice, but I wouldn't hold my breath, the voice system of the Z1 seems like a last minute implementation to me.
2. I just spoke to 6Ave yesterday, they said the modules are in route from Pioneer and should be there by Thursday. We'll see...

4. That's good to know, as it will definitely save some time for other individuals. If we can confirm that OBEX will work, I'll update the info here.

Mic placement

Before actually running the cable try attaching the mic to a few places and drive at speed. Call your voicemail, or talk to someone on the phone.
6. I'm getting ready to tackle the install of the back-up camera I got on eBay, and the first issue I need to resolve is getting power to the camera. I've never seen the connector that used on the end of the wiring, and rather than just cut it off (which I'm about to do), I'd like to find a solution for it. Any body know what this red connector is?
7. I don't think anything is out yet for the '07 GM trucks, so you'll have to wing it when it comes to a dash kit. Chances are the wiring is the same as the '06 MY, but I would check in a GM forum to confirm that if you don't have the knowledge to check things yourself.
8. Ah, sorry I should have figured out what you were saying. The reason they give you both options is because not all BT phones can be set to discoverable mode, which means you have to initiate the pairing from the phone by setting the Z1 in discoverable mode. You DO NOT have to do both, it is one or the other, and is only dependant upon what works for you.
9. You could also try de-sensitizing your mic (covering it with something), but that wil require you to talk louder to talk though it. Where have you tried the mic, and which side did you have the audio coming out of at that time?
10. Yep, that's what it is, just make sure the IP-Bus cable is plugged into the OUT connector on the CD-iB100II and you'll be set (don't ask me how I know that :D ).

A few things...

Nope, I totally forgot on my way to work, which I guess either means I have a bad memory, what you're describing isn't actually that big of a deal. Sure if you get one inch away you might see it, but when are you ever going to be that close in reality?
12. I didn't have that option because there was no way to get the cable into the armrest.
13. You can daisy chain any IP-Bus (the protocal that Pioneer uses for their accessories). All of the accessories (accept the CD Changers) have both an input and an output port, so just connect them together in a string and that will give you full control from the headunit, with no mechanical changes.
14. Yeah, I wanted to install it like that, but I was worried about attracting more attention to the car. This way if I leave my iPod plugged in and I'm parked on the street somewhere it won't be visible.
15. There's no solution yet, and it will probably be quite some time before that's available. The Z1 does take quite a bit longer to boot up, but that makes sense because it's pulling data off the harddrive, which takes longer. What I've found is that if you leave the system in Nav mode, it will take much longer to boot until you can do something. If you have the iPod playing though, you get music almost immediately, even if you can't make adjustments or enter a new destination. It is by far the fastest source to load.
16. Keith is on it and peforming a great service to us forum members!
17. We need way more information in order to be able to help you. What do you mean the phone registered fine under nav? Are you saying you were able to pair your RAZR with the Z1? What does "failing under mobile" mean? Once paired are you having a hard time making a call? Give us more detail, being as specific as you can with respect to what happened and when it happened and we'll be able to get you sorted out.
18. 5-8 feet is below the tolerance of GPS right now, so unfortunately that's the best you can hope for. In the big scheme of things, if you really didn't know where you were going, that would be pleny close enough to get you anywhere on the planet.
19. That seems weird, is it based on the particular accessory, or did they make a change to production?
20. Hmm, my CD-iB100II didn't have a red wire, just the black and yellow. I wonder if they changed that?
21. It may be moot, but don't forget that you can go from A to Z by pressing the up button at the top of the list. It won't help getting to the middle of lists, but it helps getting to the end. Pioneer is working on a new iPod interface, and it will be released sometime in the next 6 months, the big questions is whether or not our existing source units will support it.
22. That's probably worth doing to any camera before it gets installed.
23. Yeah, I've found it to be very complete with almost every old title, it's just the new stuff that is a problem (which isn't surprising).

A few things...

1. Could be any number of reasons, from poor cartography to built in security. Personally, I like the fact that it doesn't give you the exact location, that way if your car is stolen the thief can't go directly to your house (with HomeLink, they would be able to get in without breaking anything). Plus, if you can't find your house from the location it gets you to, you probably shouldn't be driving. :p 2. Haven't noticed that from a normal viewing distance, but I'll look at it today. 3. It must be enabled under the A/V Settings screen, then select it with the A/V hard button.
25. Having more metal mass definitely helps, if I have problems that will be my solution.
