  1. For the Droid you need to get the Bluetooth File Transfer program in the app Marketplace. Then you need to make sure that you disable the a2dp portion of the bluetooth handshake ie media on the phone. If the phone is registered properly on your avic device you then select phonebook transfer on the avic. You then find the "contacts" menu under the Bluetooth File Transfer progam select which contacts to transfer and hit send via BT. After the contacts have been sent and you hit escape on the avic it will disconnect for about 30 seconds...
  2. Supposedly December 11th there will be a major OTA update that will address some BT issues among other things...having said that if you are trying to voice dial through a D3 with the BTB200 even if google/motorola fixes their phone there is no guarantee it will work with this Pioneer. Pioneer really dropped the ball on this one as the numerous threads will show...I am not aware of A single phone to date that works properly with the D3 voice dial...at least if it utilizes Microsoft Voice Command...you could perhaps voice dial but not hear any of the voice command prompts or confirmations...ho
  3. Can now pair DROID with D3 (just be sure media profile is disabled on droid before using phonebook transfer function) Auto-Connect: Yes Basic Function: Yes Phone Book Transfer: Yes Voice Calling: not available "yet" Call History Log: Yes Signal & Battery Strength Indicator: Yes to both BT Audio Capable: Yes
  4. BT problem finally solved...see other post....
  5. Finally sovled the problem....I can now transfer contacts, and the phone auto-reconnects....but voice dialing over BT not yet an option (BTW has always been an issue with the d3). Here's what worked.... First I installed the free app "Bluetooth File Transfer" for the droid Next... D3 has a problem with the phonebook function (contact transfers) if the BT Audio is simulatneously connected. I cleared all the entries on the headunit with the existing droid-d3 pairing I unpaired the phones and deleted the registered phone entries... I opened the connection and made the doid discoverable.
  6. Three different phones...three problems with phone headunit connectivity....ultimately solved by recoginizing that the D3 has a seizure trying to transfer contacts if both the phone and the media BT profiles are connected. It is imperative that only the handsfree or phone profile is activated when trying to transfer contacts etc to the headunit. If the audio/media profile is enabled the unit will disconnect immedately when selecting "phonebook transfer". Once all of the contacts are transferred the phone should be unpaired and then re-paired using both phone and media profile as well so th
  7. Just to counter the other posting here....the Droid DOES NOT WORK great. Pairing is not the issue....it's what you can and can't do after the pairing..... You CANNOT transfer ANY contacts... You CANNOT voice dial though the head unit so this isn't exactly handsfree operation is it? You CANNOT auto-reconnect....everytime you return to the car you have to go into the bluetooth settings of the droid and re-connect manually.. If anyone else has had a better experience please share it with me......
  8. ...one other problem....I can't get the phone to automatically re-connect...If i turn off the avic or phone I am forced to go to blueooth settings on the Drpoid and click on the "paired but not connected" avic...any workaround here?
  9. Were you able to transfer contacts? If so how did you do it?
  10. The optional add-ons: bluetooth module, ipod adapter, navtraffic xm, rearview camera and install cards from Crutchfield in April 2007 brought the total to almost $2000.00 As far as I know, while the hardware is refundable....the labor clearly IS NOT!!! There was no legitimate non-gray market pricing substantially better than that...and I didn’t have any chop-shop buddies working in a back alley in NJ to install at a discount….my beef is about the dishonest marketing of the product....
  11. Product Details Pioneer CD-BTB200 Bluetooth Wireless Adapter, Model CDBTB200 This CD-BTB200 is designed to work only with Pioneer "Bluetooth Adapter Ready" Navigation systems, AV Receivers and CD Players. Bluetooth Wireless Technology allows these Pioneer headunits to communicate automatically with and treat most compatible cellular phones as source devices within a given range. Bluetooth wireless technology also allows you to place and
  12. You might find your answer in this thread... http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/samsung-sch-i760/94843-any-luck-pairing-pioneer-btb200-bluetooth-adapter.html
  13. You could try timing it but the better option is to go into the voice command menu on your phone and disable the option that gives you voice prompts...that way the phone won't wait for you to say yes or no. If you have multiple phone numbers for a contact than simply press the voice button on the D3 and say "Call" [contact name here] followed by "mobile" or "home" etc
  14. I am not aware of ANY phone that will broadcast the voice command prompts through the btb200. It seems ridiculous that such a shortcoming would be overlooked and it is SHAMEFUL on Pioneer's part that they have done NOTHING to remedy it...I have been using the voice command button on the avic D3 by disabling the voice command prompt feature on the phone (samsung i760) So far the setup seems to get the connection most of the time but I never know for sure until the other party answers...BTW the avic d3 (btb200) does not recognize the caller id on calls that are initiated on the phone including
  15. I have have gotten the Samsung i760 to work (with a few bugs/missing options) http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/678257-post13.html
  16. I had a similar experience with Pioneer Tech support regarding the BTB200. I couldn't get my xv6600 (HTC) on VZW to work and they told me since it is a PDA phone it will never work. Must be the same guy with an ass for an elbow....I searched http://www.howardforums.com/index.php? and you may find a hack for your phone that will allow it work...
  17. So if I choose not to re-route is the delay fiigured into the arrival time? Thanks!
  18. Traffic flow warning indicates slow traffic ahead on my D3. I am then asked if I would like to re-route. How do I interpret the presented data? Does the +15 min indicate that the mileage slowdown will add 15 minutes to my anticipated arrival time (and is this number automatically adjusted in the destination time) Am I also being presented with the length of the traffic delay (in miles)? How do I compare times/mileage with an alternative route? Thanks!
  19. I have noticed what must be a software bug....the labels on my presets for XM band 3 are often missing when I turn the car on. The only way to get them to reappear is to exit the XM function and reselect it. This problem seems to be confined to band 3. The presets will show P1 P2 P3 etc with just the channel number and no label info (e.g. Bloomberg, CNBC,CNN all missing)...has any one else seen this?
  20. I have seen the same problem with some routes in Massachusetts....WAY OFF routes. If I ignore the suggested route The D3 will keep prompting me to turn back for 30 miles adding almost 100miles to the trip...if I select recalculate route from the main menu it will then realize its mistake and select the appropriate one. It's as if the automatic rerouting when "off route" is a different algorithm than manually selecting "recalculate route"...
  21. The pioneer works great for night vision...I have seen plenty of factory installed cams that are terrible in comparison...
  22. Thanks!!!...I take it there is no way to mod so the first choice is city?
  23. Thanks for pointing out those details!!! That is exactly how my unit is behaving. I didn't make the connection earlier with the interrupted power causing the menu button to fail. As far as pioneer tech support not knowing their own shit....I second that! When I had trouble importing my phone book from my pda phone I was told by tech support it wouldn't work with pda phones. I just upgraded the bluetooth stack on my phone and made sure the transfer funciton was selected BEFORE I tried to export via BT...then no problem....
  24. Having an issue with the cursor in map mode. If I touch the screen to get an i.d. on the route it takes a couple of attempts to accurately get the cursor to move where my finger is touching. The first touch opens up the shortcut menu (which I expect) but the second touch the cursor is WAY OFF and requires a third touch to accurately follow my finger...after three touches the cursor then is accurate...is this a firmware bug?
  25. Once a track from a selected album starts playing I can't find I a way to get back to the album track list without restarting the album search from the very beginning....is this really the way it is supposed to work? My second question is in regards to the virtual Menu button for the ipod. It briefly changes color when I press it....but it doesn't do anything...One would think this would be implemented to allow better navigation of the ipod menus...any ideas? Thanks!!!
