  1. Take a look at the install manual - lots of good info in there: http://www.pioneerel...anual010212.pdf also interesting: http://www.pioneerel...anual010813.pdf if you are going to buy the siriusXM tuner - you might want to jump on it now - looks like its about 20 bucks after 50 rebate: http://www.crutchfie...00V1-Tuner.html
  2. What happened to the unit in the moments, hours, days, etc leading up to this behavior? Give us some more details please
  3. Dahozzman - please go buy one and let us know
  4. there is one file called "testmode.key" that you put on the SD card, and then boot up the unit with this installed. If it goes into testmode your unit is salvageable. If it doesnt seem to respond or do anything at all, your unit is bricked.
  5. looks like the new tuner uses some other keyed-DIN kind of connector - this might be a siriusxm "standard" connector across HU manufacturers. 6. airborne - NO testmode for these files is one "testmode.key" file on sd card - no folders look for the supertestmode attachment from previous posts
  7. there is actually an even newer update. Called "2012 navigation update" (it's actually CNSD-339FM). It contains all the updates til now. There is no need to purchase any intermediate updates. Just go straight to latest update. navigation.com
  8. FYI, avic.net (and other mods) will only work on F900, F90, F910, X910, F700. Will not work on F920 F930 F940, F10, F20, F30, F40, as these are different software bases.
  9. reserves, F9310BT = F930BT. Not same as F900/F910 series - uses different testmodes. Testmode for your unit does not have TESTMODE folder, but TESTMODE.KEY file on SD card. Also, why do you want to get into testmode? I would recommend staying out of it unless you know what you want to do.

    F930BT

avicnet - NO condis hackmode - yes, but be very careful - lots of folks have been messing up their unit installing - and did not read the thread carefully and take proper backups before starting F930bt is NOT similar to F900 or F910 which are an older unit, using different software series. Do look at CNSD-300FM/EU update to 2012 software/maps.
  11. You have the latest (2012). Check the forums again in August/September.
  12. if you are buying an "update" card from ebay for 30 bucks, then I can guarantee it's not the legally licensed pioneer update, but a pirated copy - the same thing that you can find on these forums and download to an sd card. It's not really a mod or hack - just an alternate procedure for installation of the update that does not require a password. Since there is no serial number involved it can be used over and over on multiple units. Bottom line, it's up to you to legally obtain your update.
  13. CXE2176 = ND-TMC10 They are basically the same thing. Will work just fine if you have 2011 or 2012 software update on your Z120
  14. to my knowledge, no, if you are using the hardware bypass and grounding KMODE pin (aka moving the mute wire on a/v harness)
  15. is it atrac3 (aka minidisc codec)? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adaptive_Transform_Acoustic_Coding There are probably a few solutions out there to convert them. Try searching on afterdawn forums.
  16. This is the version that is included with the 2012 US/CAN update for older units. It will work fine.
  17. use that search button dude! there are posts in other sections of the forums with howtos for this problem
  18. Can you boot to testmode (i.e., testmode.key file on sd card - search for testmode.key on this forum)? If you cant boot to testmode: pull the battery fuse to the radio and/or power harness on the avic and wait for at least 20 mins. Then power everything back up and see if you can boot to testmode now. If not, you are bricked. If this was a legitimate (purchased) update, or if it was a legit minor update (downloaded from pioneer website) and all instructions were followed, or if it is still under warranty, you might be in luck. If not, it will be expensive to repair. I think pioneer cha
  19. if you are considering buying new, given some major changes (new navigation program, new UI) with the new 50's lineup, i would suggest waiting til march/april for the new one if you are going to spend that kind of money. at the very least, the existing stocks x940/z140 will probably get discounted. There is a remote chance that older units _may_ get some of the ui/nav upgrades when the 2013 map updates come out in early Fall 2013, but that is not a given at this point.
  20. the maps were from teleatlas, but now from navteq starting with 2012. All of these map providers have websites where anyone can submit corrections/additions to pois, routes, streets, etc. They also collect their street/map data from various private and public sources. The map data is only good as the data they collect. If you submit some corrections, you might see it on the next yearly update.
  21. maybe you dont have the BUP (yellow wire) wired to constant (battery) 12vdc?
  22. No. The 2012 update was just released 6 months ago. Check back in August. The 2013 models havent even been released yet. They will be released in the spring, and usually, the map updates for the year are released about 6 months afterwards for the older units.

did you read the manual? it says in there. Answer for lazy folks: in the aux input (i.e., ipod/iphone cable jack)
  24. what is your software version? The map version is likely tied to that, as major versions of software come with map update. So for F30BT, you will either have 3.xxx or 4.xxx version. 3.xxx = 2011 maps 4.xxx = 2012 maps
