  1. Dug in and found it. It's included in the existing factory stereo harness. It's an orange wire that looks like a typical illumination wire. The illumination wire is actually a brown color.
  2. Anyone know where the VSS wire is on the 2010 Mazda 3?
  3. I turn off the car and start it back up, no problems after that.
  4. This has happened to me twice, I'd like to avoid it if possible. When I turn the unit on, the hard buttons work, but the screen does not power up. All I've had to do to fix it thus far is turn it off and on. Any idea what's causing this problem?
  5. They adjust everyone of those options in a different way.
  6. How do you fix his issue in question #1?
  7. You also get the vss feed when you find the vss wire, and that's free...
  8. Incorrect. The CAN BUS is merely an interface for the actual radio harness. The VSS is the only issue I have. Which I might add, is nowhere near the passenger side firewall. It's in the engine bay attached directly to the ECU on the driver side. The wire needed was green/white, which I might add was never conveyed here even w/ any accuracy.
  9. Wow, thank you for the advice, have any helpful answers? And the install went fine minus the VSS, which is non existent in the Dodge OEM harness. The only thing the CAN BUS or the Peripheral do, is give you a VSS hookup that still needs to be hard wired in. And since you seem to know about this, where is the VSS precisely on a 2007 Dodge Ram? No one can seem to answer that one directly, I assure you the info provided on this site thus far has been incorrect. The link for the vehicle specific wiring is also incorrect.
  10. So did you have the regular CAN BUS first, and then have to upgrade, or did you just go from a regular harness to the peripheral?
  11. Ok, we got the CAN-BUS interface, and I read here that it included a VSS hookup, there were a few extra wires, a purple one, which I assume is the reverse, and a pink one, which I assumed was the VSS. This was seemingly incorrect, as the speed pulse is going way goofy. I've also read 3 different locations here for the actual VSS wire for a hardwire tap. Can anyone verify that the CAN BUS adapter actually covers the VSS, I've read that we may also need some "peripheral" unit, is that the case? 2nd, the illumination isn't working, I did search, and couldnt find anything specific, anyone kno
  12. Yeah, double check the grounds in your STI. It may not be a problem w/ the harness, but w/ the actual ground.
  13. The whine can be fixed by turning off the "charge ipod" feature.
  14. Problem diagnosed and fixed. Mine goes away when you turn off the charging feature. Just have to remember to turn it on when listening to sirius.
  15. PN: 08B06-SDA-100 it's the OEM adapter for adding a cassette or factory MP3 player. It goes in the lower cubby. http://www.cheaphondaparts.com/shop/Pro ... duct_ID=87 install pdf here: http://www.collegehillshonda.com/instru ... ttemp3.pdf
  16. Got the accord install done in about 4hrs no problems, other than cdi200 causing alternator whine. Doing the dodge later.
  17. Same problem, I feared this when buying the cdi200, as it has no ground. Will turning charge off eliminate this?
  18. Am I the only one, when you click "back" it cancels your search results, and you have to re-search?
  19. In his defense, the search feature here sucks.
  20. If you wanna head down to St.Louis today I'll help ya bust it out.
  21. You didn't buy this product on ebay did you? Might be a defective disc drive.
  22. I believe the interface keep's everything together. I'm actually doing 2 installs this weekend, one is a 2007 dodge ram 2500. Other is a 2004 accord.
  23. What's involved w/ this install? Do any wires need to be spliced, or is this just a simple bus in install?
