  1. guys i had the same problem. it went into the loop and seemed like it wasnt going to end. i left it in my driveway and came back to it about an hour later and started the system up and it started looping again but it eventually cleared. i guess just be patient.
  2. had some troubles with the install. kept saying it failed and i thought i was done but it eventually went away. im assuming it went through and i havent had any problems yet.
  3. pioneer cant duplicate it and they dont have as many cars as we do to test it in. there is a fix, we just neet to troubleshoot.
  4. mine was NTF too. they reset my z1 but my mp3s are still there. it didn't last a whole day and my z1 freezes at startup. now they're going to exchange another one for me since this is my second visit. i won't get it til end of the week. will keep you guys post. i hope yours don't act up intermittent. good luck. hello there. it has been weeks since i've haven't update this thread and i’m not sure if there’s a resolution, yet. i'm going to reply to my own quote and update you what i know on this infamous "freeze at startup". well, it took pioneer 3 weeks just to get an
  5. Hey, for all those having issues with the freezing on starting up...would you please list what type of car you have the unit installed in. I was thinking about the problem today and wanted to know if there is a few similarities. Ill start it off '06 silverado Thanks...
  6. not that i dont believe you, because i do believe that is the type of connection that type of hard drive uses. but.. Has anyone else tried this and had it work for them? I plan on trying it this weekend when i get some time. But i wanted to see if there was anymore success stories.
  7. woah, i just went back and read my previous post. I was so drunk when i wrote that. but i think everyone got the idea.
  8. didnt we have a bypass bounty going? why dont we pool that money together and by a DVD and burn an image for everyone? everyone that offered money can just pool together for that DVD. just a thought, chew on it for a bit and let me know what you think.
  9. Just to throw this out there, I have a Z2 and have the same problem. although I have a theory and wont be able to test it until later this month(my truck got rear ended and is in the shop). my theory is that i put some CD's in that were scratched and the unit wrote the tracks on the hard drive with the skips included. Im thinking that messed up some sectors on the hard drive and keeps it from fully booting. So to test im going to do a reset later and wipe it clean and then not record any CD's for awhile and see if it tests ok without anything on the drive. Or has somebody tried this?
  10. Maybe we are going about this wrong, we are looking for a code that will basically say If MPH is > 5 then lockout x. (x being the POI or dvd or whatever) Instead of trying to hack the drive and change that MPH limit to 200, in that same area of code there should be something along the lines of Else Rx3 = unlock x. (Rx3 would be the equivilant to flashing your headlights 3 times or whatever the bypass will be this time) Again, just a thought, Im thinking about this whenever i get a chance, and trying to come up with something new. Thanks for tuning in.
  11. I am sad to say that I actually understand the computer language being spoken in this forum. I am relatively new and have been following the hack for some time now. (ever since i bought a Z1 online and they sent me a Z2) Just a thought... I know at most computer stores they make a adapter so you can hook up any hard drive to a USB port. As far as a software hack goes, wouldnt it be easier to take the drive out, hook it up to your computer and change the settings in the registry then slide it back in? i know there is a lot of code to go through but if you know your code you can create a program
