  1. "WIPE THE SAND OUT OF YOUR VAGINA AND GO FOR IT -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------omg I am laughing soooo hard. hope you do not mind but i'm adding this one to my list.
  2. have you looked into other options besides headrest monitors? Invision also makes a replacement center console top that comes in factory matching paint for the camary. has a screen that lifts up and rotates toward the rear seat with a built in dvd player. its pretty cool especially if you do not need dual dvd players ( one in each headrest)
  3. sounds like a speaker with a bad voice coil. when the voice coil is going bad a spkr will work on and off. It would not be a shorted spkr wire because that would cause the unit to go into protect mode. did cc use a test spkr or use a meter to make sure that wiring and signal are good to the spkr? probably just said look its working.
  4. do you have factory cruise? if so you should find it there. green/white. it may also be behind the inst. cluster. if not you may have to go to the transmission speed pulse generator.
  5. did you hook up the remote wire ( i know, probably a dumb question but gotta start somewhere) also have you gone thru the menu to turn on the sub output?
  6. have you looked into the invision monitors, they are the same as most auto manufactures use now GM, Ford, Infinity Hummer etc. I have installed many for our local Gm, Toyota & Vw. They carry a 3 yr - 36000 mile warranty. I do not have anything against the visual logic units other than the warranty and sometimes the distributor has us send in the defective units where I can call invision and they will overnite replacements.
  7. at this point with you having disconnected the batteries and the chech eng light is still on you must have a real problem. go to an auto parts, like autozone, murrays, pepboys etc. they will be able to hook up a dtc scanner and tell you what code is being stored and the discription of the problem. once you have this info look into your install. good luck
  8. ummm, im not sure what happened on my last message. it wasnt typed in that layout. sorry

  10. the bcm is the box you are looking at, the 6th plug you are looking for is on the bottom of the bcm mod next to the black air duct in the same spot. as for the check eng light try disconnecting the battery pos lead for a couple of minutes then reconnect it. this will usually do away with ant trouble codes stored. good luck
  11. ooopps, that would be luv truck not luvtruch, must of been too early. also anyone remember the days of having to make your own abs plastic kits
  12. has anyone had the fun of the datsun b-210, 70's luvtruch or the old opel gt. pick one and its garunteed that you wont ever want to do one again.
  13. my 6 yr old son builds stuff better than that and i am proud to have him as my helper. i am sure that he could have done better than this. also he does not use super glue to mount parts together, he uses my 3m 8115 or my 8223 panel adhesives. he also knows that super glue leaves the white marks. SOME people do not deserve to work on cars or anything else. This shop may end up paying out alot more than it took in on this install, really is too bad.
  14. what i have done at the request of a customer was to catch the green/ bl wire that powers up the window control mod (switch) which stays hot thru the r.a.p. cycle, this can also be reached at the sjb but is a little more fuss that the window power harness at the jamb.
  15. my mind knew what i wanted to type however my fingers did not. sorry, yes it is metraonline.com and no i did not try the metro on line to see what it contained. have a great day
  16. this wire can also be located at either the abs module which is under the truck body next to the gas tank and is the only yellow/ bl at this harness or it can also be located at the juncion block on the floorboard next to the e brake. remove it and turn it over you will see the middle connector contains only one yello / bl. I have used both locations and worked great. a little easier to get to.
  17. more info needed,( bose or not, onstar or not, rse or not, does factory radio have speed comensated sound adj) also you could go to www.metronline.com and build the car, this will give you a list of parts needed such as dash kit, harness, modules, ant adaptor etc.
  18. bueller here(hahahaha)sorry i didn't think i would get such a quick reply and also have been very busy at work. i will need to recharge and look at the version #, ya see i got disappointed and left it stashed in my tool box. so i will get gack with you . thanks again for your replies. good day to you
  19. has anyone experianced the batteruy going dead after setting in the off position for a day or two. i can fully charge mine ( its only a week old) and have it completely off and check it a day or two later and the batt is dead. i got a new batt from the shop and it does the same. i think its may have other issues but wanted to chek here and see what others may say about it. thanks in advance.
  20. if the radio did not come with speed compensated volume control you usually dont have an active speed pulse signal, i have seen this and went straight to the pcm out in the engine compartment. good luck
  21. you mentioned the module is a chime module. what is the part number. metra has a module for the bose system. it is the gm-oso4. you mentioned using the rcas from another unit that was in the truck, did someone use a line level adaptor instead of the bose interface ? it is also possible that the other unit was a common shielded ground on the rcas and the new unit is balanced signals. have you tried taking a lenght of wire grounded at one end and touching it to the shield of the rca? i have found this to help test the input of the amp circuit. other than that is there a gain on the chime or the
  22. what interface module did you use , most of them have a gain control adjustment and if its too high there will be some abnormal sounds. i would also check my grounds and make sure they are low resistance. is your bose amp turned on thru a data signal or is it a remote turn on. on the digital bose amps you only use the front inputs, fading is done thru the digital signal of the amp. i have also narrowed down noises by unplugging one rca at a time to locate the noise and sometimes needed a gli. good luck
  23. yeah i know what you mean about the eclipse being easier to use, i install them for a toyota dealer here in mich. and decided to try the pioneer systems. on my d2 this morning i got to looking at speed sensor wiring and schematics. i found that the speed sensor wiring goes from the sensor to the ebcm then to the pcm. i found that the yellow/black wire at the pcm was eratic voltage and decided to try the green / white at the ebcm which is on the frame rail on the drivers side. once this connection was made took the truck for a drive and wolla everything worked great. @ the ebcm there is a green
  24. thanks again for all the info. i have been reading about complaints on the z1. i have one i was getting ready to install in my wifes trailblazer next week but now i am not sure about it. seemed like a great unit but i see a few complaints about the nav section. xsdbs
  25. thank you misfit, do you happen to know what my pulse should read in the 3d initialization mode? i have put abot 100 miles on the truck and still will not initialize. also out of curiosity i disconnected the speed pulse wire to see if it would go into simple hybrid mode after clearing out old info. drove for about 5 miles and still no initializing. ( dumb question maybe) do you have to stay in the 3d screen while initializing? i tried out of screen as well as on screen. i am wondering if i just have a bad unit. i also noticed last night that once in a while i would get an excessive vibration
