  1. They say that probably because Android is a less unified platform than iOS. People still have droids with Froyo, and a HUGE chunk of the android market is still on gingerbread. Honestly though I don't really understand why it isn't. I mean, chances are if you have the money to drop on a $700-1000+ headunit and accessories then you most likely have a phone with Android 4.0 and above.
  2. Whelp, I sent my bricked Z110BT (upgraded to Z130BT software) to a repair shop in California over Ebay and put it back in today. Now my question is, is it possible to upgrade directly from the Z110BT software to Z140BH with the 2012 maps? Or do I have to go through the step by step process with the other upgrades first? EDIT: Went out tonight to give it a shot anyway and the only problem I ran into was needing to replace the cardinfo file, otherwise everything went swimmingly! Even though I've replaced the battery with a new Autocraft gold, I still kept the car idling as the update was
  3. Looks like I'm screwed, I tried the super testmode on a new SD card and still nothing. The worst part is that it's probably my fault for not idling the car while doing the upgrade, I assumed that if a laptop could run off a smaller LiON battery for hours, a little GPS unit could do an hour on a Duralast Gold yellow-top battery. Is there any way I could restore the GPS OS on my own? Access some kind of BIOS or re-install? Failing that, what about those e-bayers who claim to be able to service the units for $120 + $15 shipping? If I need to shell out $400-500 to Pioneer to get it fixed I'd r
  4. Could it be that maybe the SD card was bad or that the battery went out? This morning when I went to start the car the battery was only at 10v or something, I didn't leave the car running last night during the update because I didn't think that it could possibly draw that much power if only the GPS and accessories were on (headlights were off, dome lights were off, all speakers were off, only things on were the GPS and the indicator lights in the dash with the ignition turned to the "on" position). The battery should've been at full power, I'd just driven home from work on the freeway. The
  5. Gave this a shot 2 hours ago, I used the scripted RenewalIFLib.dll v1.2 replacement method and then ran the update. It got all the way to 100%, rebooted, then started installing a few things - it got to something like 4/6 before it seemingly crashed. At first I thought it was just resetting again to complete the update, but it started moving in and out with the lights flashing in all sorts of weird patterns. At first I thought it was just running through some new diagnostics or whatnot (I have a z110BT that was updated to z130BT), but it kept doing this for 5+ minutes. Then the lights just
  6. Even though I'm pretty new, I'd be willing to chip in a bit. The promise of better maps is a good enough reason already - I currently feel that it's more trouble than it's worth to try and sell the Z13 upgraded Z11 and set up a whole new navi/headunit system.
