i had the same problem with my n2 wheni had it only happened when i reinstalled it. Try disconecting the handbrake wire (assuming it is bypassed) i followed these steps otherwise mine did not work 1)plug in the main harness (black connector) 2)plug in data link connector (going to brain) 3)plug in the rca preout connector 4)turn on key let unit startup 5)reconnect the parking brake cable that used to work for me and i always had to follow that sequence. although side streets some may be main side streets so they are thicker orange i think is main road blue is highway thing grey is regular side road that would be my assumption

for the reverse wire find where your reverse light wire is and hook it up to that

the pac module uses, power ground and the info wire (whichever for your car) mine was the white (mazda3) then you have to follow the instructions and it will tell you to cut or leave the loops uncut, plug the plugin connector on the back of the unit in the lower center and program to w/e program version you need for my car i had to ground an extra wire which the instructions did not say to do but it works. Check w/e car forum you are a part of there may be a write up on how to install the module

the upgrade discs should work they came with my unit and they did an auto update. knock on wood no problems

i baught mine off of ebay and i payed roughly the same in CDN dollars imported to my door knock on wood mine is ok. Because on the unit it states for non us buyers no warranty

i am most likely going to be installing one in my friends car in a short while i will let you lnow how that goes

if you really want to spend money get a dvd changer that way you will be able to play dvd cds but they are expensive and you will have cds again my oppinion get the ipod cable (45$ CDN) its worth it the ipod integration is great but still a little upset that i cannot select to see all the songs on the screen

there must be a way to compress both map data and combine them on one disc no?

the dealercan get very expensive because they will charge you for an entire audio harness they wont just sell you a cut off peice. But to make sure that you actually need this harness did you cut off the connector on the car and hardwire your d3 in?

sounds like your oparking brake cable wire (which you should have grounded) has failed if you say the functions are greyed out make sure your ground wire is ok

you basically answered your own question. You said the unit was plug and play your yukon has a factory connector still(unless you didnt buy the extra harness and hardwired the d3 harness in to the car) Then you would have to put your stock harness back in.

if you say it is a oem nav then you should not have to but you will have to buy several addons such as the dvd player for the nav cd the antenna and w/e else you will need to make the factory nav work

nope doesnt make a difference. But thanks to all of the input sofar. is there anything supposed to be displayed on the ipod screen though? On my n2 i had it displayed pioneer on the screen itself and non of the functions worked on the ipod you were only able to control it throuigh the deck

so does this mean you can still use the ipod controls on the ipod itself while hooked up to the car? Or do you mean that the ipiod controls are locked because of the hold being on?

i tried both what you said and it still does not work do you think it could be a faulty unit? or would the ipod display not even show up on the unit if the unit was faulty? I just want to make sure that it is the cable that is faulty because i just received my d3 this past thursday

hey everyone, have a problem with my ipod working on my d3. i plug in the cable and it all pops up on the screen but does not allow me to use any of the functions. The ipod itself does not say pioneer on it like the ipod adapter i had fir the n2 i used to have. Please help asap. thanks Dan

go out and get the cdib200 because they are the updated versions which should give you on sreen controls. From what ive heard and understood thats why they braught out the 2nd gen adapters ONLY DO THIS IF YOU HAVE THE ACTUAL N3 BRAIN because you do state you may have the n2

Hey all, i have just stepped out of my avic n2 and am eagerly awaiting my avc-d3 to come in. I have searched and have not come up with any answers so if anyone can help it would be appreciated on my old n2 the channels on the radio were up and down motion on the ipod it was left and right. For the d3 are the channels the same direction of movement as the ipod or are they still staggered like the n2? Also how can we make custom backrounds for the d3? i saw the walkthrough for the d2 but it states it only works with d1 and d2? thanks in advanced

there is a vss for this car comes right off of the ecu if i remember correctly it is a white wire with blue stripe 05 model. If it is the same for any other year i do not know but whati have been told is that they are all the same except for 07
