  1. Spotify is still "Spotty". I can get it to work most of the time, but if I am listening to the Apple music app and try to switch to Spotify it will not switch over. Once it gets going, it is better than it was. Still needs a little work, as does Carplay on the whole.
  2. Having a few issues after updating to iOS 8.1 Album art looks noticeably darker and even harder to see. Instead of decreasing the veil, it has been darkened from the bottom up so what is seen is mostly the upper third of the album art. Contrast and Brightness seem to work in reverse when setting picture levels in Carplay, thus affecting the PQ of the rest of the unit. Had a hard crash where Carplay completely froze the unit. The Carplay screen was stuck on the screen. Looked like an old video card going out of whack. Spotify is still a no go. Bottom line is that 1.07 n
  3. The update hasn't improved anything yet. I'm beginning to wonder if the 1.07 update will help with Spotify or that in conjunction with iOS 8.1 which will be out later today. I have had some random luck in the past few days with Spotify but on the whole it's more miss than hit.
  4. I'm hoping Monday's iOS update will help. At this point I'm not sure if it's Spotify or Carplay. Anyone use Rdio and know if it works?
  5. Reset your phone maybe? What version of iOS are you running?
  6. Only works on USB 1. Make sure you are using the correct input and make sure you have updated the OS in your phone.
  7. The Home button activates Siri. Hold it down and Siri will activate. No other button or "Hey Siri" needed.
  8. Spotify is virtually unusable through Carplay. As for the album art, I really had to crank my Brightness to see it. Have to mess around with Contrast and Brightness and will have to try again during the daytime, but it is there. That said, I'm preferring the look of the Pioneer screen art. I think Apple went a long way to trying to make Carplay something you don't look at while driving. Otherwise, the album art should pop more. I don't have Beats Radio or iHeart Radio showing up either. I guess those apps are not ready for primetime either. This still feels like Beta software wit
  9. Doing that to me for the first time today. Never happened before. I thought it just had to do with Carplay. I will try again when not in Carplay.
  10. First impressions... Very quick and responsive. Especially with playlists. Album art is way too dim. My unit tilts back a bit making this worse. Spotify does not work. Maps are a good alternative but I prefer Pioneer Nav. Have to physically unlock phone before connecting. Music does not resume after restarting car. Good actually outweighs bad but it needs work.
  11. For me it would be Kenwood. They are not doing Carplay but the audio quality is great, Garmin for Nav and great online features. Everything the NEX should be doing.
  12. So more spin. The manufacturers have to implement it and Apple has to approve it..and we go 'round and 'round!
  13. How long ago was that tweet? I have all along thought this was Apple's fault, but now it's up to Pioneer to get a firmware update out for it's units without Carplay.
  14. I'm wishing I went with Kenwood...and NOT because of Carplay!
  15. Lmao. It just gets more and more ridiculous. The units desperately need a firmware update and we all have to wait for Carplay. Pioneer needs to say something or create a separate update.
  16. That's happened to me in the past. I usually just unplug the phone and reset the unit and all is fine. Not something I can say I have heard more than once.
  17. See Bluetooth issue here. Seems like the "reset all settings" fix works. http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=19811835#post19811835
  18. I'm have zero issues with songs playing or Bluetooth on my 5s. Maybe you have a bad iphone 6? I don't think it is on iOS 8 issue. Do all the resets you can and possibly swap out the phone? Apple Store have them in stock today so you may be able to swap.
  19. I've had over 20 apps update on my phone in the last day and I have been running the GM for over a week. Keeping fingers crossed that once all these apps are updating we see something. Otherwise, I'm just thinking Carplay has been shelved for awhile. The GM is the same as what was released yesterday.
  20. iOS 8 has been released. The countdown is on! DO NOT HOLD YOUR BREATH! This video with hidden features of iOS 8 "could" be Carplay related.. Siri hands free which requires the phone to be plugged in. (Carplay) Improved Dictation, also helpful for messaging and with Siri in Carplay.
  21. Those issues are with Appradio mode. Controllability of an iPhone with iOS 8 works fine.
  22. I didn't have any issues on my 8000 other than possibly having an initial issue with playback. I just don't remember as it has been find ever since. Close all your apps and the music player and try again.
  23. Now another makes it sound like Apple is pushing back to Fall... http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/does-Apple-CarPlay-come/story-22927408-detail/story.html Sigh. VaporPlay!
  24. It is September and only a few months to go. Feels like "late 2014" to me and a safe comment when you don't have any further info.
  25. IOS 8 works fine. I've been using it since Tuesday. Do you think the firmware may include enhancements to iOS 8? Here is another article... http://venturebeat.com/2014/09/11/gms-connected-car-strategy-shifts-gears-will-use-apples-carplay-android-auto/ Note this sentence "Apple is nearly ready to debut its Carplay service.." That does not sound like Carplay has truly been unleashed onto the general public. We should stope the conspiracy theories for now and wait to see who is next to deploy Carplay. If it anothe car manufacturer is next out then we can point fingers at Pion
