  1. I understand what he means. They fix this with the AppRadio 3 (and hopefully a future firmware update to the appradio 2). The unit in its current form does not support bluetooth streaming. With bluetooth streaming comes the ability to differentiate bluetooth signals, IE the difference between a phone call and a voice command. Currently whenever any voice command system activates on your appradio, the appradio thinks it is a phone call because it doesn't support anything else besides calls through bluetooth audio. Now with the updated firmware that the DA-110 has you will gain the abi
  2. So I decided that since my original appradio was worth....yeah so since I can't sell it I might as well use it for something. So I bought a 3 amp ACDC converter from radio shack. They are 60 bucks. I probably could have found or made a cheaper solution, but I was lazy. Plugged in the wires into the appradio (I put the power and the amp turn on cables into the red end. Doesn't matter if the radio knows if the battery is on or not, when I switch the power off it loses all settings anyways) To my great elation, the old girl still works! Now the lightning to 30 pin adaptor is completely
  3. DA-02- I don't believe there is. DA-100- go to the main screen, where it shows you the ipod symbol and settings and such. Slide to the second page, press the off button.
  4. Well yes and no. The DA-01 continued to get updates well into the Appradio 2's life. However in that case the Appradio 1 was still being made but as the DA-02 unit. However technically yes it was getting updates after being discontinued. Now you are right that the second the DA-02 was discontinued we stopped seeing any updates at all. How they will treat the DA-100 will be very interesting. Once again the DA-110 is the same unit more or less as the DA-100. They just have a newer firmware running on it but hardware wise it is identical. The DA-210 is not. It is a new unit. We shall see wha
  5. I'm honestly at this point waiting to see someone actually hit a breakthrough in this space and get a flood of applications on their platform. From what I see Pioneer isn't going anywhere meaningful with this platform anymore.
  6. Pioneer had nothing to do with Rdio no longer working on the AppRadio. This has been coming for some time. Rdio is no longer an AppRadio developer. They pulled the code that puts the app in AppRadio mode from the App. It seems no one told Pioneer though. Their AppRadio page touting it as one of their best streaming apps is embarrassing.
  7. I want the ability to keep both the 30 pin and the HDMI iPhone 5 connection at the same time without having to jump between menus. technically I can do it right now, but I still have to jump between menu options. I want plug and play.
  8. You don't have to worry about Pandora. None of the Apps features are run on the radio itself when you use the app in carmode. Pandora is one of the most popular apps in the car. As such, instead of them tailoring their system to the AppRadio like everyone else had to, Pioneer tailored the radio to it. The radio runs a built in pandora application whenever you run pandora. This app has it's own features that have to be updated by Pioneer that Pandora has nothing to do with. In fact as far as Pandora is concerned the app is a glorified remote control and nothing more. Pioneer is using the s
  9. As far as I know there is no jailbreak, or unlocking of the DA-100 itself. I do know that you can use the da100 with a jailbroken appradio and appradio extensions, however as far as something like appradio+ there is nothing that I know of.
  10. I emailed them. And this is what they told me. Hi Daniel, Unfortunately, we will be dropping support for AppRadio with the next release of Rdio for iOS, so there won't be a fix for this iOS 5 issue. This removal of support should fix your request for a way to disable the AppRadio mode though. Best, Madelyn
  11. I haven't seen any new apps for the AppRadio in a little while, and now I've heard from Rdio that not only are they not going to update their app to support the 5, but that they also will be fully removing support for appradio with their next update. This is a worrying trend. I don't see new apps coming down the pipeline, and now apps are starting to go?
  12. It honestly depends on the app and frankly the results for me are random app to app. Safari and Netflix go full screen. Hulu runs in a box. Youtube does whatever it feels like at that moment. The list goes on. My dropbox app I believe plays in a window as well. The reason for it is that the appradio does not default with overscan on. Some apps notice and adapt for it. Other apps do not.
  13. The latest beta of appradio extensions works with the new firmware.
  14. I honestly doubt it. The stock unit works fine, and hell the built in antenna of the iPhone does the job fine.
  15. See that's the first mistake. Always do it yourself. When you have someone else put it together you won't know why something could be going wrong when something goes wrong.
  16. Check the whole Cable. It might not be at the iPhone end. The cable may be improperly installed at the headunit.
  17. It sounds like there is a problem with your connection. Check your port on your phone. Especially since you have a 4 I'm guessing you've had it a while. Your port may be filled with gunk. clean it and see if that fixes your issue. If not that then maybe your cable is failing. How long have you had the unit?
  18. For now, wait. I'm hoping that with the next AppRadio software update they make the transition easier. Hardware wise the unit very much could handle switching between an iPhone 5 or an iPhone 4/4s without a problem because it already does that between an iPhone 4/4s and and Android phone.
  19. I'm interested in their opening of the AppRadio to both the Samsung and the MirrorLink connection systems. On that same topic I know ford has created an open standard on which their myfordtouch apps are based on. I wonder if they can add those apps to the list as well.
  20. Does your homemade dock have the full 30 pin layout wired? If yes, then just make a female version of it and run that cabling to wherever you want to hide the cable that it comes with.
  21. There is no software feature difference between the DA-01 and the DA-02. The only difference between the units is that the DA-01 was made by dual while the DA-02 was a Pioneer built unit. Even then they are functionally identical. The DA-100 was the first true hardware upgrade for the appradio platform. That unit has now been on the market for a year just like when the DA-01/02 had been on the market for a year they launched the DA-100. However, from what is being said the DA-110 seems to be identical to the DA-100 hardware wise, so as stated above it would not be surprising if a future s
  22. Yeah, to everyone going nuts he did a little trick there. First, he has a 5. The 5 lets you mirror the screen without a jailbreak. Second, while he was taking care of the little warning message, he turned the phone making it take up the whole screen. He's still mirroring, but in landscape instead of portrait.
  23. navfree is not a very good app. Try waze. No, that is not working correctly. My waze does what you want perfectly fine.
  24. With both headunits you can listen to spotify. (I so with they made their app appradio friendly) On a 4s just plug it in and press play. The music will come out of the speakers fine On a 5 you need to get the necessary cables first if you haven't yet, plug it into the radio, wait till the top bar is no longer blue, press the apps button then press ignore on both the appradio and the iphone. Then you press play. Sounds overtly complicated but for me it takes about 3 seconds to do everything written above.
  25. hey buddy, sorry no one has said anything yet. First, no the appradio 2 and 1 use different cables. The 2 is definitely an upgrade mind you, but no they use different cables. As far as your girlfriend's phone, yes and no. The HDMI cable is used in both setups, as is that in both setups you need a source for power. However for your girlfriend to use the phone in the car you have to unplug the phone, turn off bluetooth on both, go to settings and switch from iPhone Digital AV to other. Then after she pairs her phone it will work fine. You have to do this step backwards to use your phone again. I
