1. there were two parts to the cal, the first one you have to trace the outside border of the screen (white box) to set the parameters, then you do the touchscreen part, this is where i was confused. you have to keep pressing the square that pops up, then it will eventually move, then keep pressing it at its new location. i did this and it works fine. mine was off about a 1/2 inch before and i wasnt able to use the far left letters like "a"
2. not sure if a voltage regulator is going to work in this case, since the wire rests at 4.8v inputting a 2.5v constant voltage to the wire is not going to make it always 2.5v, its going to take on some voltage from the 4.8 unless you pull the 4.8v down past the 2.5. looks like a simple 1000k (1mohm) 1/4w resisistor might just do the trick all together. <- can someone try this. one side of a 1000k (1mohm) resistor to the pin and the other side to gnd.
3. got it all fixed, the touchscreen cal was in the service menu, took alittle messing around with, but it works like brand new again.
4. question about the pin that you normally ground (the yellow one in ducati's picture) does this wire rest at 5v? if so you are using the pot to pull down the voltage to 2.5v, if someone can confirm this i can make a circuit that atuomatically adjusts to make the 2.5v on this wire for any unit.
5. couldnt you just use a resistor set at the pots value? anyone have those radio shack pt numbers?
6. my screen when i press it, the button next to the one i want to select, it selects. Is there a way to adjust the touchscreen? i went through all the menus and couldnt come up with anything. thanks!
7. anyone try making a hybrid disk just like the one for the n1 with n3 maps? but the d2 main files with the d3 maps?
8. all i thought you needed was the newer software from the n1 to make it touchscreen compatible.
9. all i thought you needed was the newer software from the n1 to make it touchscreen compatible.
10. Anyone try it yet? i dont want to screw up my unit yet.
11. if you turn the unit off will it still be bypassed when you turn it back on? just curious
12. need pics of a n3 or n2 board to figure it out
13. any chance to get a pic of the n2 or n3 board so i have something to compare with? i mainly need the part where r197 is located, front and back of that part. i deal with circuit boars all day long.

pic would be alot cheaper, you can use a pic12c508 or 12c509 that has an internal oscillator, and program it very easily, you would need an transistor for the outputs and a voltage regulator also. total cost would be about $6-8 if that.
I'm not familiar with that, but it sounds like it would work, and its A LOT cheaper!
i guess ill spend some time making the code and try and program one of these things, do you think 3 pulses? or just one, i need to know the timing of how long to wait also, I will make one up for trial and ill

16.
Instead of doing the PAC TR7 and possibly using a diode, I was thinking that you could use a small PIC and have the illumination wire go into that and then one of the outputs would come out of that. Write a page of code that when it comes on the first time, it would (even if your lights were on) have the line to the Z1 be off, then turn it on and off, and then after a few seconds, let the real state of the illumination "come though". Shouldn' t be too hard to set up. We are supposed to have a "personal development goal" to work on at work every now and then. I think
17.
Thanks guys, I have the avicz1 and now my wife can actually use it when I am driving The light trick worked for me. I have not tried a long trip yet to see if it resets. I have the park wire grounded ans I have not found the speed wire yet. 2004 chrysler crossfire.
Speed Sense dk. green/white power amplifier Notes: The power amplifier is on the passenger side floor panel under the carpet.
18. If someone has a tr7, i would like to program it, i have one but its hooked up inside of my car right now, the programming is very intence to do, i have mine used for a starter kill, that requires a series of dash buttons in my car to be pressed within a certain amount of time. The programming for the z1 is not a standard tr7 option and will take some time to get it to work, but im 90% sure i can get this thing to do what i want. I need to be certain the things that need to go on for the bypass: is this correct? 1) parking brake has to be grounded on startup. 2) flash the ligh
