  1. nah, i did the update back when the 2.0 one first came out back in october and this just happened last week. and yes, i did do the hard reset afterwards. its weird...it just out of the blue started acting up. im guessing somehow some files got corrupted? it booted into testmode just fine. i reinstalled the update through test mode as well just to make sure that everything was fresh, but still no go. hopefully pioneer will fix it quickly! im rocking the stock radio now!
  2. nah i didnt do any mods to the unit. i ended up sending it back to pioneer, so either theyre going to re load the flash disk or send me a new one.
  3. i ran a power wire with the rca and powered it with the acc from behind the radio. just tape them together and then run both wires in split loom
  4. go with a wired one. when i had my 06 f150, i ran it through the large grommet that is above the gas/brake pedal. if you look near the brake booster, in the engine compartment, you will see it. i ran it along the frame rails and ziptied it to the factory wiring. get a nice creeper and you'll be able to do it fine. little tip.....wear safety goggles!! i offroaded in my f150 a lot so a lot of dirt kept falling in my face...the googles worked!
  5. install on that car is soooo easy! i could seriously install that in about an hour and a half for nav and steering wheel controls. i install for best buy and the install should go as this: 99.99 for in dash install 59.99 for steering wheel control install. 21.99 for dash kit 21.99 for harness thats it. im in so cal, but san bernardino....a little far from the 626 i wonder who you talked to at your local best buy...they must be smoking crack or something
  6. My F90bt just recently started booting up weird. one day it just randomly did this...i turn on the car, the boot up screen shows up for about 5 seconds and then disappears. the backlight is still on and the radio boots up normally...when the phone connects, it shows up on the blank screen. Sometimes, when i hit the map button, the screen will show up and the radio will work normally. just tonight it will only come up with the warning screen with the system start up in progress and will just stay there. i reinstalled the 2.0 update but nothing seems to work. could the files have been corrupted
  7. wow.....good luck on not getting any of the filings inside the d3. maybe it would have been easier to make a cardboard sized piece in place of the d3 while you sanded and filled in the area? that way you dont have to do it inside the car.
  8. no, the f150 does not need a higher current power wire....the existing wire has plenty of power to run the avic. sounds like a problem with the unit.
  9. well, its a data connection. the f150 is different as it has illumination and vss in the harness. take my info for what its worth. i install for a living.....
  10. yeah it will work without the rca harness. then once you get it you can do the bypass
  11. the mustang uses a can bus signal for the speed sense so its not in the radio harness. actually in my 07 gt/cs my speed volume never worked on the factory radio. i didnt care much since the radio only stayed in there for a week. on the 08 and up i believe, even the 12+ accessory wire is not there and is controlled by the can bus as well.
  12. for sure...that should solve your problem. only other issue that could cause your problem is the ohms of the factory speakers. if you ran wires directly to the speakers and bypassed the amp, make sure they are 4 ohms on each speaker output. if its anything lower, the avic's amp can't handle that and that would also cause it to shut off b/c the amp is being over worked and could cause the radio to reset.
  13. sounds like the factory wiring that is powering the head unit doesnt have enough juice for the radio. you need to run a new constant 12+ wire and run your own chassis ground to prevent this from happening.
  14. yep its that easy! it translates all the info, including the vss from the data wire in the gm radio harness. simple install! and yes, connect the vss!
  15. i have the same ipod. i used to have to do that all the time before the update....i did the 2.0 update and i had no problems until now. now, just about every time i have to unplug and plug in the ipod to get it to work. im going to try updating the firmware on the ipod and see if that works.
  16. you can use the antenna, but you have to remove the plastic sheath in order to plug it into the new xm tuner.
  17. you either do that, or you can do the software bypass that is described in the forum. but you gotta know what you're doing otherwise you can potentially screw up the unit.
  18. yes they do. i installed one in my friends 03 jetta gli. fits perfectly, however you need to get the pioneer double din mounting kit to hold it.
  19. no prob......that is what happens with pioneer units when the ip bus cable is plugged into the wrong port. you can control it from the radio but it doesnt have sound. ive seen it a few times when my new installers did that at work.
  20. make sure the IP bus cable is plugged into the black output port and not the blue one on the HD tuner
  21. youll only need the wire harness. you will need the factory radio mounting brackets that are attached to your factory radio. no dash kit or antenna adapter necessary.
  22. just be sure to enable it in the menu settings. i cant remember if it is defaulted to be on or not out of the box.
