  1. As we all know, there will never be such a solution from pioneer. So, I started this thread to discuss ideas how that could be achieved anyway. My idea is to use VNC to provide a solution similar to the Mirrorlink protocol that newer Appradios support. Some members here seem to have an Ipod touch (even with cracked display) permanently connected to their avic and to the internet via wlan tethering to their Iphone/Android. Now, I am wondering if in such a scenario a VNC client app could be used on the Ipod to control an Iphone 5 or an android phone that runs a VNC server. Could this work? Am I

  3. I asked Pioneer about an update for my f30bt (=EU version of z130bt). They told me that there is no update for their 2011 models due to incompatible hardware, no matter if maps are updated or not. If you take a look at the files in this update, you will notice that there are only SAL123 and SYS123 folders. These are the ucom firmware images for the 2012 hardware platform. For the 2011 models there should be SAL110 and SYS110 folders as well. The designation of the hardware platform 110/123 does not change with map updates.
  4. This update is only for the x940bt, it won't work with your x9310bt due to minor hardware differences. The 2012 map update does not help here. You need to undo the windows ce update somehow that was done before the ucom update. In this update there is no ucom firmware included for the 2011 hardware platform. The ucom firmware files are only included for the 2012 platform (SAL/SYS123)...
  5. Are you sure about that? This update is titled "Firmware update for products with 2013 map update" and it has the version number 5.1. BTW is SAL/SYS123 the 2012 platform? The UCOM-update contains only image files for that platfrom. Do you know of any obvious HW differences between the 2011 and 2012 models? What I have seen is that the 2011 models use the CA revision of the FM tuner chip TDA7706. The 2012 models probably use already the CB revision. I know that both revisions have slightly different DSP software that is uploaded during initialization from the UCOM into the tuner chip. If th
  6. Take care, this update seems to be specific to the 2012 avics, applying it to a 2011 model may damage it if I got their documentation right... Maybe there are still some minor HW differences between the f930bt and the f940bt. This update seems to change also the UCOM software... I really hope that they provide an update for the 2011 models as well
  7. Very interesting, even if it is 5 months overdue... I think it should be possible, because they clearly say "Firmware update for products with 2013 map update". Lets hope that they did not include any mechanism to detect the hacked 2013 map update...
  8. kowe, did you read my post #149? According to the informations Pioneer provided in march you need the CD-IV202NAVI cable not the CD-IV202 for the f930bt. However it is not clear if the required software support for that cable is included in the 2013 map update. To me it seems almost as if Pioneer dropped the planed Iphone 5 AppMode support for the f930bt and f940bt. At least I never heard of anyone who got the Iphone 5 working in AppMode with these avics... I can send you the presentation I am referring to, but you can also find some useful information via the link I provided (x940bt is the sa
  9. Check this out: http://www.ceoutlook.com/2013/01/14/pioneers-model-by-model-chart-for-iphone-5-compatibility/ I also have a presentation from Pioneer from march this year where they explain in much more detail the different Iphone and android connection options and software requirements for their EU models. However, meanwhile this presentation dissapeared from their server, so it might be that it is already outdated. To me it seems almost as if they silently dropped the planed Iphone 5 App-Mode support for their 2010-2012 EU models, because they don't seem to offer the CD-IV202NAVI cable anymo
  10. Did you update Bluetooth as well? That might be the reason for your audio problem, but that's just a wild guess... For the App-Mode with the Iphone 5(s) you need the CD-IV202NAVI cable and the Apple Lightning to VGA adapter.
  11. x50 is probably based on the Renesas R-Car platform: http://am.renesas.com/products/soc/assp/automotive/index.jsp
