I believe that I tried that, but I will try again later today. Thank you for the help.

I just purchased a toshiba MK4032GAX drive for my Z1. I loaded the Z3 image fine, but have not been able to disable security. I tried both the CD iso and the floppy version of MHDD, but I am not getting the correct screen when it loads. It looks nothing like the screen shots. I have connected it to the primary and secondary IDE channels. Every time the program loads I get C:\MHDD on the command line. None of the commands work such as EID or config. I get nothing when hitting shift+F3 or any other command. I know that I must be doing something wrong as I am the only one with this problem that i

I just installed mine and have the microphone on my visor. I conceiled the wire under the A-pillar molding. You can only see the wire for about 2 inches between the pillar and the visor, but who cares. Works fine from this position.

Hooked up the VSS and did a reset and everything seems good. The VSS may not be needed, but it does make the position more accurate and seems to make the movement more fluid. Thanks guys

Anyone else with this problem??? If it does screw up the bypass can you get back to stock?
-
The reason that I didn't hook it up was because I contacted Pioneer and the guy said that the VSS is not really needed unless you go through alot of tunnels and or other obstructions. As I don't have satalite reception issues I figured I would try it without. I guess that I won't be listining to pioneer anymore.

thanks guys. I'll give it a shot.

I just installed the Z1 2 days ago and everything is good, but the arrow direction is pointing off into the distance rather then along the road. I have done the correction and everything will be fine for a while and then I will be going down the road sideways and sometimes tracking next to the road sideways. I have hooked up the reverse line, but not the VSS. Not sure if this will clear up in time or if there is a problem. The GPS is located on the dash and I have all or almost all the satalite signal. Any help is appreciated.

While at circuit city the other day, one of the guys said that a installer there was able to bypass the Z2. He said that there is a switch either on or in the unit to allow bypass. I find this highly unlikely, but wtf, if it is true then nice. If I can get more information out of him I will post it, but I think he's full of brown stuff.

How To: Find your Vehicle's VSS Wire.
Slo05alti replied to JasonH's topic in Vehicle Specific Wiring
I have a 05 Altima without the Bose, but the stock deck had the vehicle speed control for the volume. On the factory harness I have the light pink wire. Is this the correct wire or do I need to use the blue/white wire behind the cluster. If it is behind the cluster, how do I access it? Thanks in advance for any help.
