  1. Anyone have an issue with the image from the rear view camera disappearing with this update? May be a coincidence, the grid now appears, but my video from my rear view camera is gone. I did check the settings for polarity. *EDIT* it was a coincidence.
  2. Thank you! I just donated to this great cause! I wish Pioneer would make it easier and more affordable to keep our NAVs up to date. I certainly am not made of money and believe when you pay over $700 for a head unit, it should update automatically... maybe someday. Until then, thanks to all you who investigate ways to program and make our NAVs work.
  3. Yes. I just can't get the "advanced app mode" that I thought I read was available.
  4. Anyone have the manual posted somewhere for the 940? I updated my 930 and would like to see if it HS some of the features in the new radio
  5. Yes. The update does... But probably not hat you think. I can't get it to work with Bluetooth app mode on my android... I believe you need a cable.
  6. I have the same question about android apps. I believe you can erase all the memory in the setting area for the Bluetooth, but not delete a single phone. Just keep installing through max and then it asks to remove one.
  7. I got the update and it worked well. As for those who hope for it to be leaked, I would not hold my breath. The code unlock feature that requires you to go to pioneer's website for an unlock code that involves you typing in the product number nd your radio identification number to generate an unlock code seems pretty sophisticated.
  8. One more question. Does anyone know what firmware number is included with the $120 update? It looks like 3.001 is available for free on the Pioneer website. Is this all that is needed to make it like the X940... besides the maps?
  9. I was wondering the same. I am also curious to make sure that the upgrade is for the x930BT. The instruction manual on the page, http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/Navteq-NavteqNorthAmerica-Site/en_US/-/USD/ViewStandardCatalog-Browse?CatalogCategoryID=BBIKCghBaMsAAAE5kJlgJAUD&ShowAllProducts=YES Only references F-Series.
  10. I believe the new update does this, but would like confirmation. http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/Navteq-NavteqNorthAmerica-Site/en_US/-/USD/ViewStandardCatalog-Browse?ShowAllProducts=YES&CatalogCategoryID=ED4KCghBPbUAAAE5g_sHXzWY
  11. Where is the outside temp sensor located? Is the Silverado a CAN BUS operated vehicle? If so, I would check with whatever company you chose for the CAN BUS adapter, that may have some impact on the main computer and how it is reporting the temperature. My Jeep wrangler's compass got all messed up with my install because the compass is located close to the radio and the magnetic field screwed it up. I just disconnected it so it no longer reported on my dash.
  12. I noticed the same thing and can't find that option either as it was available on the D3. I also noticed it no longer tells you what town or city you are in like the old ones did. I like the unit overall, but the directions from Pioneer are lengthy, but by no means are user-friendly.
  13. Anyone know how to actually view the text alerts for traffic if you are not "in a route". If I am just driving around, I see the yellow or red lines on the map, but can't click to see what it says like when it pops up when I am driving a route in navigation. Any help would be great since I cannot find directions for this.
  14. Mine worked without an "activation". I have a Jeep Wrangler and use the stock antenna from the Jeep.
  15. I installed the traffic tuner. It seems nice... but there are NO INSTRUCTIONS on how to use it with the interface on the maps. When I am driving around town and not entering a destination, I have no way of knowing what the RED or YELLOW flasshing lines are. It would be nice to be able to see the notes along with the traffic information just as when driving on a route.
  16. Look in the manual for a better explanations, but I will attempt to help. The resolution does not appear to be an issue (just may look funny)... but the main issue is the Codec used, maximum bitrate, and frames per second (FPS). the X930BT has these listed in the manual in page 214. I use MPEG Stramclip (by Squared 5) to get youtube videos onto my SD Card. It allows you to select those factors I mentioned above... You can also use this software to convert other videos to the correct codec, etc. I generally use the MPEG4 setting and the program then uses the H.264 codec. I then click
  17. Does anyone else have the same issue that I have trying to connect to pioneerelectronics, com? Whenever I need to get to it, it always appears to be down, unavailable or just plain slow. I am in New Jersey, so not connecting through any low-tech lines, etc. Just frustrated trying to get simple information about my radio, that wont be answered in this forum because it is in the manual which I am unable to get... yes I would download it as I did in the past as my computer crashed. Again, just curious if others face this issue. I have noticed it ever since I owned my D3.
  18. Pioneer confirms the touch screen for the AVIC D3 to be part# CSX1114
  19. I drive a Jeep and finally got caught with my top down in a thunderstorm. I had no idea it was raining and I was inside a resteraunt. My AVIC D3 got soaked. I dried it out and all works fine except the touchpanel which now looks "wharped" and damaged. The touchpanel works sometimes and other times not at all or thinks I am touching it when I am not. I am not able to afford $200 plus dollars to have it repaired. Pioneer will not allow local shops to repair it even if it is not a warranty. They will not provide service manuals regarding their GPS. I did confirm with Pioneer that th
  20. I know you said the disc works well but I would re-load the original or another disc so that it may overwrite whichever file in the AVIC may be making it hang. I know this is not an ideal "answer" but hope it helps.
  21. If you search for something like "tweak" and your phone's name on the web, you may find some programs that will allow you to activate the option or edit the phone. I did not look myself, but there are many out there for my windows based phone.
  22. I have the same camera and have had it working for a while... but now the image comes on sometimes and not others... I assumed it was a bad ground or hot... no luck with that... Anyone have problems with this camera... I have had it for about 1.5 years and there were no impacts, accidents, or mods to the camera or wiring. Thanks if anyone has any suggestions. I hooked the composit wire to my sony video camera and it displayed on the radio.
  23. I have an HTC TouchPro working (most of the time). I do get an occassional Error-80 with no reason. I installed the JETware BT HFP Extension 1.31, connected to my Avic D-3 and clicked advanced on the phone as it was finalizing the connection and unchecked the stero box and only kept the handsfree checked. I then uninstalled the JETware BT HFP Extension and it runs fine. I believe the install and uninstall changes a .dll or .ini file in the OS to allow the phone to talk with AVIC's outdated bluetooth version. - JC
  24. For the backup camera, any will work. I have not heard great things about the expensive one from pioneer with the park assist. Many have said it was not worth the money.
