  1. What kind of car did you install the D3 into? If it is near any electronics that may be throwing a magnetic field, they could reap some havic with the DVD drive. I have had similar problems and just persevere (re-inserting the disc) until it works. It seems to happen once or twice a month on mine.
  2. I replaced my the three folders posted and made a new .iso file. Burned it and now there are NO images in XM. It is actually kind nice (nothing, not even a blank box or the goofy placeholder logo) It never needs to be updated again this way since it is text only. I am going to try to just copy and paste the contents of the folders into the existing of the D3 disc. Maybe that is where I messed up. Even if it doesn't work for me... Thanks for ALL of you and your hard work! Happy Thanksgiving!

    Move from a D3

About how much did you get for your D3? I may want to post it on ebay as well. So what I am hearing is that the XM graphics are still reliant on the DVD DAT file and image files?

    Move from a D3

Thinking of moving from a D3. I believe I can use the same XM radio unit as I have for my current D3, but Pioneer is saying the I-Pod adapter is different. Has anyone made the move to an F series from a D3? If So, is it worth the money? Does the F series have the same XM issue with needing to have the graphics on the DVD rather than downloading them? Sorry if this was asked before... I could not find it in the forum.
  5. Awesome! Seems like you are cracking the code! I remember seeing this kind of conversation back in January. Maybe this link may help you all. http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=82584#82584
  6. What does the IMAGETBL.DAT file do?
  7. I guess this is not something you think we can ask of either XM or Pioneer to update for us?
  8. Did anyone notice that once the upgrade has ocurred that once in a while the D3 indicates a reading error upon initialization of the unit. Then it is also fine other times? Multiple burns with same results. Just curious as it is not too much of a hassel, but none the less would be great if it did not happen at all. It seems to occur more if I take the disc out and put it back in (or put in a DVD or CD) and then return the nav disc.
  9. You may also want to try better sparkplugs. Ask someone in a PepBoys or a store like that. I had this problem before and it worked for me.
  10. I have both Sirius and XM and the XM interface blows the Sirius interface away! It does kinda suck though that we are forced to use one over the other. Pioneer should have been able to do something better.
  11. Although there is no scrolling for the XM. The Sirius interface (although it is horrible) does allow you to scroll. Come on... They (Pioneer) makes the XM unit, could they at least allow the scrolling?
  12. Do you have to use the Pioneer camera with it?
  13. Service Provider: Sprint Phone-SW Version: Motorola Razr/V3 Autoconnect: Yes Basic Function: (Make & Recieve a call, Call History, Preset Memory) Yes Phone Book Transfer: Yes (multiple allowed) Voice Calling: The voice recognition does not answer you through the car speakers. It could work, but you do not know when to confirm what you said or if it is correct. Signal & Battery Strength Indicator: Yes / Yes BT Audio Capable?: Not tested
  14. I knew I didn't waste my time getting my Microsoft Certification... I am sure there will be a higher need for them once the cars and their nav systems start turning on the humans.
  15. The only way to get the traffic reports on Sirius or XM is through their subscriptions. XM is the only one that offers XM NAV Traffic (at an additional cost) to integrate with the maps. You could also always tune to your local AM news station for free.
  16. Does anyone know the answers to the following: 1) Can you have both XM and SIRIUS connected to the D3? 2) If I already have the Sirius unit installed, do I need access to the back of my head unit to install the XM tuner with NavTraffic? 3) Is the NAVTraffic good and is it free?
  17. Thanks for the quick reply. I like the content of Sirius better... but I really don't understand why they went cheap with the interface.
  18. I am not asking about the content or service... just the interface. I have the Sirius interface installed on my D3 and it sucks! It is not intuitive and to find out any information you need to hit buttons repeatedly. Has anyone seen the XM interface in comparison? Is it better?

    Bluetooth for D3

I installed the PIONEER CDBTB200 BLUETOOTH ADAPTER and installed it with my AVIC-D3 and it works AWESOME! I have a Jeep Wrangler and people can hear me with my top down. The interface is pretty cool, but not terrific. Depending on the service you have, certain items display and others do not... like name with caller ID. It is not simple to dial with it, I still actually use my phone to dial, then talk hands-free. It is easy to answer calls. One thing that is stupid is that it does not "talk" to the navigation system. For example, it will not share the address book nor will it ca
