yea the functionality of it is horrible. You can't really search or do anything like the d3 can. Your best bet is to unplug it find the song, press play then plug it back in. You could be more clear as to not working as well!

Yea you should have just ran a new mem wire right when you saw 5 volts. The wire probably has a short in the wire somewhere or it got burned up somewhere, just leave the bastard and put your new one on and you'll have navi back up in a second.

blue/white from d3 to blue in the toyota/skyion harness. Probably won't change anything. Buy a 4 ch amp and new speakers, they're much better than those pioneers that come stock. As you guys can probably notice I hate factory speakers.

connect the blue wire in the gm harness to the blue and white wire on the d3...and you'll have sound. That is that amp turn on wire..get it? ha

Most of the typical ford 03 and older and some of the newer one too that get mounted without bolts/screws(meaing ones that slip in and snap into place) The plastic around the radio will need to be trimmed down a little bit, and as far as mounting the acutal z1 into the dash and securing it...should be interesting. The only thing I can think of would be to have to fiberglass it into the opening. I don't think you can do it without doing somesort of modifications. No theres not going to be a vss wire in either the scosche or metra. He is saying that it will be in the smaller of the two vehicle harnesses connected to your truck. It will be simplest to grab it from there.

Yea you have to take the mute wire out of your current harness and move it up a spot inorder to bypass the d3. Then you need to insert another wire into the spot were the mute wire came from to regain the mute function on the d3. Or vice versa, which ever way you want to do it. But yes your going to need an extra wire to bypass the d3 and have the mute function. And you would have to get that extra wire from another pioneer harness of some type.
