  1. Ran the 2.0 update using my Vista x64 with no problems at all. Happy Vista user here. Very good OS with the right hardware.
  2. There probably SHOULD be a bluetooth FW revision soon at the very least. If you look at the BT update packed with the 2.0 update, the BT update had RC3 in the name. Also known as "Release Candidate 3" which means it was pretty much a final release but could still have bugs and is not the OFFICIAL OFFICIAL final build of the bluetooth software.
  3. Also, voice control. That's faster than any other way. (For me anyway, I've got a ton of albums)
  4. It does make it look virtually identical to a 2D Track up, but the only problem is (atleast for me) is that once you restart the unit/start routing somewhere, the default zoom angle comes right back, so you pretty much have to readjust the angle every time you use the thing.
  5. What type of 80GB do you have? Classic or regular 5th gen?
  6. My 30GB 5G iPod Video drops half the time upon bootup. What kind of 80GB iPod do you have Brad? On a side note, I used my brother's 80GB iPod CLASSIC on my Pioneer the other night and it never dropped once. Ever. Here's what I did. I hooked the iPod up to the Pioneer and started the car (Put it on ACC to be exact) and let the Pioneer boot to where I could see if it dropped the iPod or not. Then I shut the car off and let everything sit for about 15 seconds or so. I did this 15 times for each iPod. Out of 15 times, it dropped my 30GB 5G iPod video 8 of those times. Out of the 15 times on my

Download the user manual from Pioneer's website. That will be more indepth than any video.
  8. Yeah, but the Kenwood bluetooth works. It's all in the coding from KW/Pioneer that makes the difference. I have both a DNX8120 and the F700BT with V2.0, both have Parrot. On the Kenwood, all my contacts come over INSTANTLY, EVERY single time I use the unit. No managing or updating has to be done, where as with the Pioneer, I have to manually send over the contacts 10 at a time. I'm removing and selling my 700BT as of tonight. It dropped my iPod 3 out of 4 times starting up tonight, I made a bluetooth call which caused the unit to restart after the call ended, made another bluetooth call a
  9. Go to the "Set Up" menu, then "AV Interface", scroll over to Page 3 of AV Interface and you can select the Nav voice volume and which speakers it comes out of. Hope this helps.
  10. My EnV works just fine with the Avic-F700BT. Make sure you put the EnV in to "Discoverable Mode" first and then search and find it through the Pioneer. You will have to transfer your contacts over 10 at a time however once you have established a connection.
  11. No, I mean.. the contents of the Pictures folder. lol
  12. Thanks! Though, I think we could have done without your 'Pictures' folder...
  13. Hey waveykat, I have the SAME exact problem right now. Did the whole alpha channel thing in Photoshop after I had the white box around my car icon and now I have no arrow/car at all.
  14. Awesome! Thanks a lot for the fix! Will try it out when/if it ever stops raining.
  15. Awesome work! Btw, as for the Stop navigating button, I just want to add it to the stock compass as in the other tutorial, but adding those four lines of code throws a scripting error. Any chance of moving your stop button away from album art or assigning the Stop Route function to your compass. Thanks again for the awesome work!
  16. What I found just now while fiddling around with it in the car, I got in, turned on the unit and watched the iPod and the unit dropped it on boot like it has been doing. I noticed that the thing sends a wake up command to make the screen on the iPod light up and then immediately the unit sends the iPod into the "Pioneer" screen mode. Though, I noticed the iPod was still booting up when the avic dropped the ipod. I think what is happening here is that the iPod is not booting quick enough/the Avic is sending the control command too quickly here. Like the Avic says "wake up" to the iPod and then
  17. Has anyone used say the official cable and NEVER had a dropout? That's what I would like to know. My new 700BT went 4 days after installing it to start this dropout BS again. I got a 700BT last June when they came out and it would drop it all the time (more than now), and it didn't make a difference if I used the regular USB cable with no audio from the iPod or the Pioneer one. It just seems odd that the iPod gets a little more reliable with each FW release, and yet everyone still suspects the cable. If someone can tell me that the Apple composite cable is a 100% fix and they have been using i
  18. I keep having my iPod drop about once a day on bootup. It has not dropped WHILE using the unit, yet. All control functions work fine, etc. It still pisses me off that i have to unplug and reconnect the USB when it does that, I mean, there's no chip or anything in the cable is there? What effect should unplugging and plugging it back in have to do with the physical connection with the iPod. I could see if it was on the dock connector side with all the pins it has and some being faulty or w/e, but it will also reestablish connection by pulling out and reconnecting on the USB side, which tells me
  19. You should hear audio on the preview and emergency channels no problem even without being activated. There's something wrong with your tuner/install.
  20. Yeah, there's no reason to hold off. CEO of Sirius XM said that a combined platform of broadcasting for them is about 15 years off, and on top of that the XM satellites are newer and will be getting more use. You can not go wrong either way. Just, look at http://www.radioandrecords.com/RRWebSite/, it says right there that they will be merging all the music lineup for both so it will not matter what hardware you have for music, it will be the same channels either way. So you might as well buy the XM tuner as it can do 3 lines of info at once as well as channel icons.
  21. XMFan.com. A few XM employees occasionally post there as well.
  22. I have an 07 Jetta with whip antenna (No shark fin) and don't get any AM stations either. I did the install myself and used the motorola to standard antenna adapter. FM is just fine, but no AM and I am about 100% sure that I do not have two different antennas in the car.
  23. Yeah, November 12th, is the day they will be announcing the new lineup and will probably be taking effect that day. Basically, they want to make it so that both XM and Sirius have the same exact music channels, and different exclusives for talk, etc that can be bought from either side in a "Best of" type package. So no matter what hardware you have, you will be able to get the same exact content one way or the other. They're getting rid of some of XM's music channels and some of Sirius' music channels to reduce redundancies and consolidate it all to one big lineup. Some DJs are kept, some
  24. Skicrave is just a little cranky due to the flood of painfully redundant questions being posted elsewhere, (aka, "How do I get into TestMode?", "Are there any better TTS voices?", and "2D North up", etc, etc) and I can't blame him either. They made a great FAQ that helped me to get my new F700 up and running with several mods and people still don't take a second to read other posts/stickies.
  25. I have an iPod Video 30GB 5.5G that has dropped the connection twice today. It has been fine since the 2.0 update and now all of a sudden it's started this crap again. That... and the navigation won't stfu even after I put in the fixed version of Samantha, though that's a different story. Right now I'm holding off on putting my Kenwood 8120 up on ebay. I am really missing my Garmin nav.
