Limitations of the HD tuner

Recommended Posts

Heyy, is anyone aware yet of exactly what the limitations would be of the GEX-P10HD if used with the N2?

From Pioneer's website:

"Compatible with the following Pioneer headunits:

* FH-P800BT, FH-P8000BT, DEH-P700BT, DEH-P7000BT, DEH-P600UB, DEH-P6000UB

"External Control" capable with other Pioneer IP-Bus headunits, a/v receivers and navigation systems, with some limitations of display and control. Please review Owner's Manual(s) for more details."

External control means it won't have a graphical interface built in. You will have to use the function keys to do everything and it may be tricky figuring out what each function key does, and then remembering what it does because they won't be labeled. Kinda like controlling the CDIB100

I have HD radio connected to N4, it accesed through EXT1. The interface is similair to the tuner built in to the N4 except for the F keys. In my opinion the HD radio tuner is better than the built in tuner even for non HD radio stations. I added a antenna splitter to be able to use both functions.
