Nightcat Posted February 11, 2008 Report Share Posted February 11, 2008 Im upgrading from from my old setup (avic 90dvd w/touchscreen) to the D3 butI wantto hook up the old screen tothe d3 so that it shows the same screen thats on the d3. Reason being....D3 is too deep to be mounted high in my dash so i wa goingto mount the other screen up top and then the D3 at the bottom. Anyone know how I can accomplish this thanks.... HiFiSi Posted February 12, 2008 Report Share Posted February 12, 2008 Whatever you use as the 2nd screen has to have RCA inputs. And the D3 will only output video from it's onboard DVD drive, and possibly ipod video. The nav map and control screens from non-video sources will not be put out the D3's outputs. j0xx Posted February 19, 2008 Report Share Posted February 19, 2008 so to get this straight the rear video output only does video nothing else so if there is not a dvd playing then its a dead screen? or will it display whatever is on the d3 screen? the d1's and D2's had a option to pick navi or video theres not an option for that on the d3 is there? HiFiSi Posted February 22, 2008 Report Share Posted February 22, 2008 The D3 has AV outputs you would run to the screen's input. I don't recall exactly, but I think you have to enable the outputs in the settings menu. Then it's only a matter of putting the DVD in the D3 and playing it. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
