v8killah
Hi, I have an AVIC-D2 and have upgraded the maps via the CNDV-70MTP upgrade disc (East). The parking brake bypass in my car worked fine prior to this, but post-upgrade, I get the warning that the parking brake is hooked up improperly. FYI - everything except the parking brake bypass works without issue. Any ideas? Thanks.
whtcrxghst
Did you check that a wire/connection didn't come lose or something? Also try resetting the deck. Sometimes that helps
v8killah
Yeah, checked the connection to ground with a voltmeter and it was okay. Is there a way to fully reset the unit? I'm only seeing the way to reset to default settings. Thanks

v8killah
Thanks, I'll try that. I'm still not sure why this is happening though. I have the parking brake wire from the AVIC soldered to the ground wire of my car, so I'm not sure why the warning is occurring.
wpageabc
What have you to lose with a reset?
inferno999
What have you to lose with a reset? It's in the manual. I've isolated the pages for this question and uploaded it to my site: http://www.inferno999.com/public/AVIC/A ... ctions.pdf
v8killah
Hi, I'm still having an issue with this. I haven't seemed to have found anyone having a similar issue, as the only cause for change that I can determine is the DVD upgrade. I've verified that the parking brake is properly grounded and I've also reset the unit. Should I try downgrading to see if it works okay with the old version? If so, can anyone please point me to the steps in doing so? Also, if anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know. FYI - the exact error message is "system detected improper connection of parking brake lead," which displays as soon as the unit receives power. Thanks.
whtcrxghst
Have you confirmed that the pin on the wire you moved is making solid contact with the deck when its plugged in?
v8killah
Yes, I verified that there is proper contact on all ends via a voltmeter. Have you confirmed that the pin on the wire you moved is making solid contact with the deck when its plugged in?
v8killah
Anyone have any ideas? I'm pretty much at a loss here. I can't think of anything else to try, short of the downgrade, which I'm not sure how to perform. Are there any other things that could be causing it? I find it difficult to believe that the upgrade caused issues with the parking brake bypass, but you never know. Thanks.
HiFiSi
Is it the actual CNDV-70MTP disk, or is it a burned copy?
usafrac
Have you found a fix? I'm getting ready to run with the new discs and this isue makes me a bit hesitant...
HiFiSi
^ I'm guessing he was using a burned copy of an update disk and it turned out to be a bad disk. An original copy of the update disk shouldn't cause this to happen.
