Nearly perfect....

...the one thing you forgot to do was mimic the aluminum/chrome trim that was built-in along the bottom of the Audi Symphony radio to seperate it visually from the climate controls.

Here's what I did back when I had a D3 installed in my Audi A4:

I bought a roll of stick-on chrome trim at an AutoZone, and I cut a segment to fit along the bottom of the Metra fascia.

It looked like a perfect match to the Audi factory aluminum/chrome trim. Everyone thought it was a factory install...

If I can find a photo of my install, I'll post it here.

Elohite, does you audi have the Bose or the standard Symphony system (or aftermarket)? How does it sound with the D3 now? I'm in the market for an A4, and i found a 06 that is exactly what i want. It has the standard Symphony system, and im just wondering what i should expect from it with a new head unit. My VW has the monsoon system, which sounded terrible with the stock headunit, but now sounds terrific with my D3. I LOVE to crank my music. I love a nice clear, full sound, with good bass, and i feel no need to upgrade any components of the monsoon system. I'm hoping the symphony will be equally impressive with a new HU.
