broken screen Ipod

I have a chance to get an 60gb 5th generation Ipod with a cracked screen. I will only be using this in the car with my avic-d3. Everything should still work right?

Yeah, I don't see why not. You don't need the screen to work since you control it from the D3...

if it's really cheap it'll be perfect. put the ipod and the ipod cable out of sight and youv'e got yourself an almost permanent MP3 hard drive for it. as long as you're not watching videos where you need to see the screen to start, your D3 does everything you'd do on the screen anyways.

 

heck, the D3 even takes over for the ipod and doesnt let you use the clickwheel to control it when plugged in.

I though that you can make the Ipod always send the video out by default through one of the menus. I was going to ask someone to tell me what to click to get that setting to be automatically...

You still have to choose what movie you want to play from the ipod

dont think the video part will work out that well for you since you gotta select the video from the ipod that you wanna play and you have to go into the settings to set it to play on the d3...but the music part will work for you if it is a good deal then go ahead and buy it.....damn big storage device for songs just tuck it away in your glove box you'll love it.
