alex_s817
hey guys just got a d3 today. as far as looks, i love it. first one ive seen and person and im very happy with it. i was wondering, for the white plug/harness which includes all of the audio/video ins and outs, can i de-pin the ones i wont be using to clear some of the clutter? im not sure if it will cause the deck to have problems so please let me know. also, has anyone installed this on a 95 240sx? im curious as to where i hook up the vss wire. thanks guys
HiFiSi
Short answer: Yes, it won't hurt anything, just be damned sure you're never going to use them in the future. You can, but only if you're 100% certain you won't ever be installing external amp(s), a secondary screen, an auxiliary A/V input, or a backup camera. Because you would probably not remember where each pin went on the harness, or you could even lose those wires all together.
alex_s817
i see what you are saying. i plan to use an external amp, the a/v inputs, and the camera. i just want to disconnect the other audio outs and the video out. i guess i can just work around them since its only a few extra wires. thanks for the input. HiFiSi
Just bundle them up to keep it compact. You never know what you're going to do in the future.

Julius
Take a picture of the harness before you de-pin if you decide otherwise.
wpageabc
De Pinning is not recommended!
