Poekin
I just got my Avic, and did the bypass as stated in the stickies. I am having trouble putting the mute wire into its new slot. I am unable to get it to *click* and the bypass isn't working. Can someone please help.
jaedee
Turn the wire over. If you look closely, there is a prong on one side the clip. Try rotating the wire 90 degrees at a time and inserting it. It will "click" when you have the orientation correct.
Poekin
i have tried it both ways and still no click. Is it possible that i messed the metal clip up?
redgea4
Sorry to thread jack but I am missing my mute wire. I got my avic used. I would like to know where and what do I need to buy to have the mute wire? Thanks
HiFiSi
(This is for both of you) You can use the "system remote" wire for the bypass instead. Just move it to the same slot you moved (or would have moved) the mute wire to. If you're running an amplifier, you can use the power antenna wire to turn the amp on instead of the system remote wire.
bluonyx
The little metal clip broke off on my Mute wire so i had to use a pin drop of CA glue to hold the wire in place. I almost glued my fingers together, done that before, not fun, but it worked. The wire is now firmly in place. If you do this you must be very, very careful, to not clog up the pinhole.
