japanimal
Hey everyone, so i just installed a d2 in my Integra and it seemed to be working great. But when i tried to use the gps it wouldn't work, so I took apart everything and then I noticed that the cable going to the gps antenna was cut through. Now I know I suffer from a sever case of noobtitus, but is there anyway i can fix this or am I going to shell out 50 calms for a new antenna. Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks! HiFiSi
You'll never get it to pass a good signal again by splicing the wire back together. The center wire is just way too fine to make a good connection. You're gonna have to buy a new antenna. Sorry.
Julius
There was a guy on this site who claim to repair the GPS cable to like new condition and he showed, with pics.,how he did it.Do a search.

Agro
I did the same thing. I went to Circuit City and bought a new one (Terk I think) and it was like $24.99. don't bother splicing, save your time.
Julius
Sorry I rechecked and that was a Xm antenna that was cut and repaired.I can get you that link if you're interested.
skicrave
Both satellite and GPS antenna use a coax cable, so the same process would apply to fixing them.
impalacustom
If they use the same type of wire it is very easy to splice them back together, I did my XM and works perfect. Just try not to cut or add any more length than you have too, because most SMB type antenna are amplified and have a specific resistance.
bossgs4
I spliced my GPS antenna it is works just fine. Just be sure to use heatsinks when you solder. DaveC
skicrave
Just do a Google search on splicing coax and you should get some decent instructions.
