medmondson
Good Morning, I am about 2 weeks into owning a D3. For the most part I really do love it, however in this short span of time I've already gone through 2 SIR-PNR2 sirius receivers. Do I try yet another or cut my losses and move on to the newer, slightly more expensive SC-C1 (plus Pioneer interface)? Reading around the forum there seems to be ALOT of problems with the SIR-PNR2 and few reported on the SC-C1, but that could possibly just be because of far fewer SC-C1 units out there at this point. Any thoughts?
whtcrxghst
I've never had a single one of either go bad. Installed approx. 100 PNR2s and about 5 of the new ones
superjet
Yup, that piece is about the most reliable direct sat tuner there is. You have some other issue going on if it is your third one.
jaedee
Where are you mounting your sat receiver? Maybe it's in a location which does not allow for decent cooling???? Just taking a shot in the dark, but like the guy above said, sounds like you have another issue besides the module.
stealthg
since we're talking about recievers, who's idea was it to make separate units for tuner and bus interface? I have an older alpine with an sir-alp1 interface and will be switching to the new F series. It just seems silly to hide two boxes instead of one.
whtcrxghst
I think it was Terks idea, since they did if for XM and DEI just followed suit with Sirius. Lets the dealers carry a bunch of one tuner for all brands, and then a few of each connectors for each specific brand
